I found em online for $12.99/box. I don't mind somebody makein a profit, just don't try to do me like that. I won't walk into another one

If they sold out to Cabela's years ago and now Bass Pro buying Cabela's recently. There will be far less competition for sporting goods.

My understanding is cabelas bought out their catalog business years ago. The prices they have indicate they haven't been trying to compete for awhile. Their shelves are full and they can't figure out why someone doesn't want to spend twice as much to shop in their store.

DW mark this day down I not only agree with you but the same thing happened to me This is a first. I used to buy a lot of stuff from them in the 80's they had some good waterfowl stuff only they carried, I still have an old waterfowl coat from them I bought in the 80's. Times changed partially through online purchases which gave them competition and led to their downfall.

Have one 40 minutes from me and haven't stepped foot in the door in over 20 years. I'm not sure how they lasted this long.

Yes to all those questions founder. Not sad or surprised to see them go. When I was a kid, I used to spend hours looking through their catalogs and dreaming of a day when I could afford their stuff:)

They are closing 32 store at this point...not going out of business. They got caught up in the success of the last 8-years while the industries best salesman was in the White house and over extended on their expansion. This restructuring should make them a stronger company that is able to compete on pricing again. Once the smoke clears anyway.

Also, the Bass Pro and Cabela's deal is far from complete and from my perspective, it isn't likely to happen at all.

The few times I've stepped into one of their stores I thought they were way overpriced. Too many alternatives if you're not the only game in town.
