Wondering if anyone has any insight to this. Have been a fan for years but this came to light at the MtnOps Public Land Party when they decided to book a public speaker who stood for everything AGAINST what us Sportsmen want and represent. I know it made a lot of people upset and really question why MtnOps would do that. Im sure it stemmed from them never being in the hunting industry or ever really hunting before they started their company (pure ignorance) but non the less this soon surfaced after that. I'm just not sure what to believe as of yet? Does anyone have any insight or know if this has been in the forum before.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-29-17 AT 08:52AM (MST)[p]This has been debunked numerous times. That being said, a lot of people will see a conspiracy where there isn't one.

I support access and I support backcountry hunters and anglers.

As a hint, take a look at who is financially promoting the green decoy theory. That said enough for me see the wolf in sheeps clothing.

Who was the speaker Ihunt4200? I'd be interested to see what this guys views are. I didn't attend the party one because I think the supplement war in the hunting community is just a flat out joke. And it seems it's turned into a celebrity status in the hunting industry. Which isn't really why I hunt. And I didn't make it to any of the expo festivities this year due to the amount of money in parking and just getting in the door fees plus those beers get spendy walking around. I looked at the link you posted and that info looks a little scary.

BHA is a good org. The green decoys thing has been floating around for a few years, it's BS.

I didn't attend the show but I did get to see the statement issued by the MtOps guys that basically said they were the ones responsible for the PLT politicians from Utah taking the stage and they were misled and sorry for the snafu.

Mtn Ops is owned by hunters who support our public lands. They were blindsided by the statements of politicians at the party. They have since made a apology for those that heard about it and also came out with their own statement on what they support.. https://mtnops.com/public-lands/

Green Decoys is a farce. It's a front group who spreads lies to undermine legitimate groups.

Look at who they target and it should tell you not to listen to a word they say. Izaak Walton League, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, Trout Unlimited, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, and Bull Moose are their favorites.

Ihunt4200, the green decoy thing has been debunked. The term was crafted and I can't remember the guys name right now to discredit sportsman organizations that basically didn't want unregulated exploitation of public lands. An oil company executive recorded the guy who crafted the term "green decoy" because he didn't like what he was hearing in the meeting. The guy basically told the room full of oil expects you can either lose pretty or win dirty, and this term would help slander and discredit certain sportsman organizations who didn't support full exploitation of our public lands and resources. By the definition of green decoy, I'm one, you're one, and every sportsman organization that cares about wise development of public lands, resources, and wildlife habitat are one.

What the green decoy page does not tell you is that Trout unlimited and BHA also receive funds from timber companies and extractive users as welll. BHA is without a doubt a great organization and so is Trout Unlimited who is the other group that site slanders. I am a supporting members of BHA and will be a life member of them and RMEF when I can afford it. They are on the front lines fighting for your and my places to hunt. All sportsmen organizations do good things in their own respects. If BHA is a green decoy, then you better throw in the WSF, RMEF; TU, DU, PF, and the rest of them too. Bottom line is, the reason "green decoy" was crafted and is used to attempt to discredit is because they are affective in what they do in protecting wildlife, wild places, and our hunting heritage. TRCP also does some good things and I proudly support every one of them.

BHA does as much or more for the hunting public in Wyoming than ANY other sportsman's group. This group is so engaged here that I life joined and am on the board of the Wyo chapter with BuzzH.

The first time I met Land Tawny at a public lands rally in Casper we shared many hunting stories. NOT A GREEN DECOY...

BHA is a great organization. If you live in Northern Utah, their next official meeting is in Logan on April 20th at 6:30pm. All are welcome to attend.

We'll be working on placing Board Members for the Northern and Northeastern Regions.

BHA is one of the few decent organizations in this industry, far less self serving than others.

I like green forest's and use decoys whenever I can.

I've attended a number of Idaho BHA meetings and have seen nothing done that wasn't in the best interests of the average hunter and angler.
