Montana Merriam Turkey Hunt

I just returned from a hunt on the Crow Reservation with my 15 year old daughter. This was her first hunt and she had an absolute blast. We saw hundreds of turkeys and lots of mature toms. She tagged out in 15 minutes with an 8 1/8 bearded tom that came into the call at 25 yards. I wound up harvesting my biggest turkey to date, a huge bird with a 9 3/4 inch beard. Both were taken with rifles as the country can be open and shots close or long.

Ya I hear ya...I lived in montana and wyoming for years and all we used were rifles for turkeys. Reduced loads in a 223 or a 22 hornet works wonders in the open range.

I'll Bet it does!
