Pretty obvious now that this bear was just curious. But for someone who doesn't have a lot of experience with bears, it definitely made me nervous at the time.

My nephew asked a outfitter up in the Peace River area why all his stands had broomstick hanging by them, They told him to keep the bear from climbing into the tree with his hunters, My nephew called BS until he watch a few video of the archery shot bears climbing up the tree and the hunter keeping the broom stick in the bears face until they climbed back down.
IF it's a good tree for a stand it must be a Good tree to climb after something "Bites Ya"
