Hey guys been apart of mm for awhile under a different screen name (31incher) and for some reason I can't logi back into. Anyways... my question for guys that have hunted idaho with your smoke poles. I drew a November tag for deer and I'm trying to find out what bullets people are using that are legal in Idaho. I know the all lead powerbelts are legal but I'm wondering if the all lead federal premium bit locks are legal? Seems they meet all the requirements but can't seem to find out for sure. Any other bullets I'm missing?

I don't think they meet the all lead requirement.
Just buy some lead conical's and don't make it too complicated.
I like tc maxiballs or maxi hunters. In 350-450gr for my 1 in 28 twist barrel.

My go to ML bullet is the Hornady Greatplains 50 cal. 385 gr. They shoot and load really well and are deadly on impact. I have recovered a couple of these from elk and the expansion is pretty impressive, I will post a picture when I get home tonight.

Remington 700 ML
100 gr Triple Seven powder
385 gr Great Plains

I have been shooting the Lee 500 S&W bullet for 10 years now. I have shot Deer, Elk, and antelope with it and I have killed a pile of game with it. I have only found one bullet. I shot a cow in the shoulder. The bullet crushed her shoulder and I found the bullet in the flank. I have seen deer shot length wise and the bullet exits every time.

If you not able to make this kind of bullet I would look at the no excuse bullet. I have paper patched that bullet and it is a good bullet.
