If he caught it and released it, how does he know it weighs 57 lbs.? He must have looked at its scales. :D

Do many kayakers fish Flaming Gorge? Seems like a great spot.

Fish it regularly, eel. Have yet to see a kayaker. Although I have seen a few floating some of the rivers in sw Wy.

She can get a bit breezy around here.

Official records need to be weighed on certified scales, which would mean killing the fish. Kudos to the fisherman for releasing that old fish.

I hope Jim didn't mind them getting his last name wrong, it's Williams. Lumpy and I went over for two days in April and did a little fishing. He is a great guy to fish with!
That fish I'm sure was 60 years old!
We caught a really good one around 45lbs and the guy we fished with said they see a 45 about once every few years. That guys fish is amazing.

The wind must be the reason kayakers don't fish there. Unpredictable wind waves are not fun. Ocean swells are okay but wind waves runs everybody off.
