LAST EDITED ON Aug-23-17 AT 05:56AM (MST)[p]I harvested this bull last night, just curious what you guys think he would score? Do you think he will make the Bean & Cricket minimum requirements? ;)

Got lucky and happened to be at the right place at the right time! Sure glad it's hunting season now! Definitely the best time of the year! can't wait to see what the rest of the season has to offer

On a side note, I shot him with a rage hypodermic 2 blade expandable. I've never seen a blood trail or wound channel so epic. Expired within 50 yards

Hope you all have a great hunting season!

Wow that is a gapping hole. Looks like a .338 Mag hit it, I don't think the hole in my elk last year was that big with a gun.
I had no idea that those feather flippers could produce such a kill shot
Congrats elk tenderloin on the Barbie

>That there is gonna be the
>best eatin' Elk Meat you

That's a fine example of a trophy-book bull with a bow, in my books anyway.

Awsome, I am hoping to fill mine soon. I passed on a spike opening day and saw 5 bulls. Unfortunately, a 5x7 I was targeting I had at 60 at full draw and he turned head on before settling in then I found him quartered out 200 yards from where I left him.

OTC units are definitely a challenge.

rutnbuck Laughed at me as I called one like yours in out the Truck Window!

Said 40" is all He'd give me!

Back Me Off to 1,700 Yards,650 is a Little Close & I'm Not Comfortable with it!

A GUT SHOT at 1,700 Yards will Still Make Some Good BRAGGIN Rights so I Can Say I At Least Hit Him!

I think with another few days of growth, Bean and Cricket was a gimmie!! :D :D

Any bull with a bow is earned, and WOW!! What a gaping hole!

>Hahahahahaha doesn't look like u would
>either there spike ?

I shot a spike in a LE bull unit when my archery tag only allowed me to kill a spike or a cow. Looks like I made the most of my tag. Too bad the same can't be said about your elk tag.

>Nice job! Huge hole I had
>no idea an arrow could
>do that amount of damage.
>

I've shot several elk with a pretty big rifle and never had near that amount of damage done to it. I couldn't believe it

Holy Smokes!!!.....that hole....WOW. Deerkiller do you think that hole was purely caused by the broadhead? How in the world does a 2" broadhead produce a hole the size of your hand?!?......honest question. Did the arrow blow right through him or did it stay in him continuing to cut after the impact? Do you think it could have gotten bigger from his leg moving back and fourth as he went on his 50 yard death run? I only ask because I just switched the broadhead I used (G5 t3) to the new G5 DEADMEAT.....very similar design. It crushed my deer.....BUT.....nowhere near the trauma from your rage experience. Is that typical rage hypodermic performance? Anyone else have similar results? Man if that's the kind of performance I can expect, I'm switching!!! That's un-freaking-real. Very nicely done.??

This is the 2nd spike I've shot with these broadheads. I had similar results with the first spike, but the entrance hole wasn't quite this big, but still a huge hole. On this elk, It stuck in the opposite shoulder so I did not get an exit hole. The arrow fell out about 20 yards after the shot. I'm not sure what exactly caused such a big hole, but any kind of rage head that I've used has always delivered giant wound channels

Okay who is going to bring up the elephant in the room...... Okay he we go. The Bow laying on a dead elk. After all we have been through you go and stir the pot. Thought we was over THAT. guess not.

Nice work on the bull.
