Lumpy and 1911 if we don't do lunch soon. The Bowery haven will close. When are we meeting up ? Anyone going to be around this weekend? Oh others are also invited. If we wait to much longer I will have to cook for you guys at the cabin. ??

Hey BIGJOHN!

Have You Got 1911's PISSCUTTER Tied up Yet?

Back Me Off to 1,700 Yards,650 is a Little Close & I'm Not Comfortable with it!

A GUT SHOT at 1,700 Yards will Still Make Some Good BRAGGIN Rights so I Can Say I At Least Hit Him!

I thought u where coming down to Bessy? I told you I would show you what heaven looked like. Looks like will be on the Henrys Saturday. It's only a hour east of the cabin.

I was hoping we could get together at the Lake this year BigJ, but another year has come and gone and we didn't get it done.

We'll need to try again next year. Maybe birdman will come down and help me learn to catch some of those Fish Lake Kokanee's, now that they are showing up in some boats and we can have the Bowery cook a few up for us. :)

Have a great fall.

I have your cell number Lumpy. I will call you from Hancock flats. ? Maybe tomorrow. I have been up there almost every weekend this summer but like four . Isn't your place in Quakie Haven ? I have been to Rappeleye's place and if you remember old Rich Dastrupt place. I am going to leave my boat up there a little later then normal this year. Hopefully I don't get my trailer snow in and have to turn my boat into a ice fishing barge.

Hope y'all don't mind a stranger jumping in on this. I basically live in Fishlake on my days off. Family has a cabin up Doctor Creek and I've never hunted any where else. Never hurts to reach out and say hi, so I thought I would. Look for a bright red ford! Good luck to everyone, enjoy the hunts!

Big White ford. We are up Seven mile. Hang around the Bowery. That's where the boat stays. I'll keep a eye out for you.

Which number up Dr Creek? Our cabin is up there as well. PM if you'd like.

Gled are you up here this weekend? It's probably pretty funny how often we here on Monster Muleys pass each other in the high country. A few years ago Preditor posted some pictures. I didn't know until later . That I had been driving past her camp all weekend. Maybe we need to do a Monday morning breakfast after we are all done scouting. Who else is on the mountain this holiday weekend ? Seems like a few people are up here ??

I'll be coming down later today. Doing some work around the cabin tomorrow. I'll keep an eye out.

Sorry I was out of town over the Labor Day weekend BigJohn, I would have liked very much to have gotten together. Hope you all were able get the folks together and put a real world person with a Monster Muley persona.

If your going to be around the Bowery again, before they shut down for the fall, let me know and I'll try, again, to catch up with you.

Need to get Momma up there soon, she loves those fall colors!!!

Nice bull. Fish Lake is a great place to view deer and elk. When asphalt and wild bull elk pastures intersect, it makes for a pretty spectular environment. We are very fortunate to own a bedroom in the middle of it. ?

BigJohn,
Let me know if you will be around for the opener of the LE Rifle. I'll be staying at Lumpys cabin and chasing bugles all weekend but breakfast at Bowery is usually part of the routine.

Muley_73 I should be there. But the Bowery will be closed. 2 Lumpy is going to have to do some Dutch oven cooking for us. ? If you every see my truck parked behind the cabin. Stop by and say hi. I know I am gone a lot in the hills. But if my truck is there and the razor. I should be. Not sure which cabin is yours in Quakie haven. Does it have the C word on the front of it ?

Careful there BJT, there a lot of special words that begin with that letter, and I might take offense if I was addressed that way on a public forum. :D

We're in Sleepy Hollow, below the highway.......... the poor cousins of the Quakie Haven brethren. There is a metal elk wind vane on the porch railing and a elk sign setting in the window, and the roof don't leak, yet! But the little darling is due for an upgrade. That fire last spring nearly put it to sleep........ whew, that was a close one!!

It's humble but sufficient.

You'd alway be welcome to come by for biscuits and gravy, any time my friend, it would be my distinct privilege to hang couple of scrambled eggs on you.

My boys usually need food around 10:30 a.m. Too lazy to get up and eat before the morning hunt. :)

By the way, after the Bowery closes, we drop down a layer. Tina makes a mighty fine breakfast and she takes better care of us deer and elk hunters than the Forest Service allows the Bowery to do. (They turn off the Bowery's water a month too early. Damn thoughtful of them, in my opinion. NOT! )

You know, over all the years I'm not sure which number it is. It's got a red roof and sits up a steep driveway. My family who owns it are the Ogden's. I'll be there this weekend as well as most of the next two weeks for the LE Rifle hunt.

Wiz a red F150 with a shell on it and something orange hanging out of the back? As for your cabin,12 1/2 maybe a better number for it and it does have a name that starts with a O on the front of it. :)

Wiz, we're just a couple cabins from you. The one right before Jorgensens up on the same hill. I spoke with Clark Monday night and he said someone had the elk tag.

I may be up gathering trail cams this weekend. Good luck with the tag.

Small world but then again Fishlake is a small place, especially among cabin owners! Yeah it's my dad who has an elk tag so we'll be around for a bit.

Wiz
I should be up on Friday after work. I will be out look at elk and checking cameras. If you are up north of the lake. Try me on Channel 7 - 11

BigJohnT,

Sounds good, I'll be rolling into Fishlake Friday Afternooon and my guess is I'll be over that way sometime that evening. I'll try those channels.

Yes it was. Kinda of crazy over by Frying pan. Trucks and cows everywhere. ;-) ;-) What are you driving these days ? I'll keep a eye out.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-18-17 AT 04:36PM (MST)[p]BigJohn,
Im driving a silver Dodge 4 door. We were in the Frying Pan Big Top both mornings. We use to be able to hunt that spot all by ourselves. Not these days. We ended up shooting a bull Sunday morning so I may not be down for a few weekends. Time to focus on moose in Idaho! I'll keep an eye out if we make it down again.
