Antelope Island Deer?

My wife and I are planning to take a trip out to Antelope Island this weekend since we have no more tags. We just want to go watch some big bucks rutting around. Where is the best place to view big bucks. Do you need to get out and hike or is there roads you can drive and look from. We were out there a couple of weeks ago we just didn't have our binos with us. We were up north with the family and decided to head out to the island. We saw tons of buffalo and went down to the south end by the ranch.

You don't have a lot of options out there. You can obviously drive the road, and you'd probably see big bucks. The trail to the peak is a good one that will allow you to see lots of country. And the trail/road to the south end can be okay. I haven't been out there as much as many people, but figured I'd chime in.

You go out there and look at bucks and your perception of what's big in the real world could be altered. Just remind yourself, it's not real. You may see several whoppers in a day out there, when in the real world it could take you a lifetime to see one like that.

Posts like that first one, are why myself and many, many others don't interact with the community here at MM anymore.

To the OP, just take the main road around the east side of the island. You should be able to see quite a few bucks from there.

Or OP, you can head over to some other hunting forums, where you will receive pleasant, helpful, informative responses.

Yup, east side by the trailhead that goes up to the peak. Or you could wait until about 0300 and drive the roads by fields in Sewercuse. I've seen some dandies driving home at night out here.

I would disagree with the many, many part of that statement. Anyone who comes on here regularly knows the few guys that can never be taken seriously. I only pointed that one out because as a first post, that was over the edge even for him. Do what I do, just pass over those posts and move on. Plenty of guys to take seriously here with good info. If you go elsewhere you will miss out on some really good things on here.

There is no website out there that weeds out everything we don't like. If you find one, let me know and I will show you something on there that I dislike or offends me. People on the internet will be people on the internet.

There are so many "real" problems in this world to get upset about, I don't sweat the few on the internet.

It's not really the number just the overall tone and content.

Elkass no offense taken at all I get your level of humor. Hopefully we see some giants just to get an unrealistic expectation of what we won't see on most of utah's hunting units. And then in a few weeks I'm sure the kill photos from the island will surface.

I'm just waiting for you to make the drive up and go out there with me Bess. I hear its prime time rut but haven't been out. But don't be fooled. You'll see atv tracks out there as well. Its no longer an island so atvs make the trek across the lake bed.

Yes they do. I've had some monsters a stones throw from my house I'm driving out there right now to see if i can find some pre work rutting

Ran out there for a couple hours yesterday. I posted a photo of one of the better finds in the campfire. This is the best time of year to go out there. Lots of animals and movement, the bugs are dead, and the lake stink is tolerable.
