States with special junior hunts

I'm sitting here tonight and I'm thinking about the points I have across the West. If I choose to burn them now while my son is seven and start rebuilding there are a few hunts I can think of that we could share together by the time he turned 12, but I'm curious which states are more generous towards juniors that I can get him in the draw for now if he gets his hunting license here in our state.

And more importantly what states do not have a minimum age to hunt big game. Off the top of my head New Mexico is the only state that I am aware of that does not have a minimum age requirement?

I was blessed to have a son who has a burning desire like his dad to experience the outdoors. It's my Hope that I can provide him with some of the experiences I dreamed it to have when I was his age

Canyoncrosser, I lost my phone and your number with it. Call me, I don't have an answer to your question but I think know a guy that can give you the details on lots of youth hunting strategies.

DC

South Dakota has a long youth antlerless season. $10 and it is September 9 to January 15. My daughter got hers in September. She was too young to put in for the Nevada youth hunt (resident only) due to her not turning 12 before the archery opener.

South Dakota minimum age is 12. We did a cast and blast and sight seeing adventure and had a ton of fun. Tag was filled less than 5 hours after we got into the state.

I believe Iowa has a pretty liberal youth season or youth license requirement's. Lot of doe tags can be had by youth and still participate in resident party hunt seasons.

saddling up anyway."

The one thing Colorado does for non residents 18 and under is offer elk tags for $100. Not sure on the minimum age to hunt big game.

Idaho nonresident youth big game tags OTC are dirt cheap, min age is 10

Oregon mentor program age begins at 9, adults tag can be used by kids

I like your thinking.
I don't know about other states but I took my son deer hunting in Colorado when he was eleven. Since his 12th birthday falls before December 31 he was able to get a tag for that year. Some 20 years later, he is still my favorite hunting companion and we have experienced countless amazing outdoor adventures together.

Kudos to you.

Washington makes it super cheap to apply kids for sheep, moose, goat. You have to do it.
Idaho is also very inexpensive for deer, elk antelope. And they can get a tag when they are 10.
New mexico, Idaho, Utah, AZ all have tags that are youth only tags. Sometimes these odds are really good.
I am the creator of the PointHunter app. I made it because it was too hard to keep track of all my families points. To remember to apply for all the hunts. It also took a ton of time to look up and see if everyone drew. The app allows me to have all my family in the app. Know their points and be told if any of them drew. This is especially good in Idaho where if you drew you need to go buy the tag.
I have a girl who played basketball up through college. Most of the time she did not have the time to hunt. We did sneak in an Idaho deer hunt and a wyoming antelope hunt where I was pretty sure I could do the hunt in one day. The idaho hunt was before she was on school teams. These hunts were super fun and successful.
She has enough points in some states to take me on hunts because in certain states you can share points as you said earlier.
Hunting with family is really good time that is hard to replicate in any other way.
The current plan is to take her on a world class hunt every year after her college days.
I could tell you my hunt plans for my sons as well but you get the jist. You are doing it right by making a plan for him now.
