Snow Leopard Hunt

Meh....look at the pic, its from a long time ago. Used to be able to hunt them. Someone dug up an old pic....

However, in an update to the petition Amanda wrote that she has ?been contacted with concerns that the hunt may have happened too long ago to be prosecutable.? The hunt reportedly happened sometime in the early 2000s or 1990s.

This was from a long time ago.
I am a little hazy on the details but I seem to remember he paid a lot of money for the permit. Just because USFW won't allow it in to the country doesn't mean it wasn't taken legally. You can go to Namibia today and shoot a black faced impala. You just can't bring them back. (If you live in the US.)

If you really want to talk about something look at the MP rams that guy has killed.

The guy would have to be a bloody idiot to have killed that leopard illegally after they were put on the Endangered Species List and then post a picture out on the net and write a book about it! More than likely it happened well before they were listed and this woman didn't look into the matter thoroughly due to her being one of those nuts that goes bonkers any time someone kills an animal. All it takes is someone like that and then all the other nuts come out of the woodwork to pile on with no knowledge of what they are really voicing an opinion on.

The leopard was killed over three decades ago legally in Mongolia.

More than likely this is a stunt to whip up crazies. They probably got wind that one of the countries was going to legalize snow leopard hunting by permit and they are trying to scare people before any momentum can get going.

Without a doubt this was killed years back! He's not wearing Kuiu, he's not rolling a flatty, no fancy bino harness...

Hossein Golabchi of Augusta, Georgia, better known by his nickname of Soudy is the owner of Golmar Construction and Development Co.

Soudy Golabchi was born in Iran, but emigrated to the U.S. as a young man.
Hunting
Soudy began hunting in Iran when he was 16 years old. He says that he has taken more sheep in his home country than he even cares to count, as he was initially not actually a trophy hunter. That came later, after he became an American citizen in 1980. Since that time he has trophy hunted worldwide, including several times in his homeland of Iran. Soudy has taken 65 wild sheep and 34 wild goats. These include 25 different Capra (wild goat) species/subspecies, and 35 different Ovis (wild sheep) species/subspecies. [1]

He has three Grand Slams, and needs only one more ram to have a fourth Grand Slam. Around 1990, Soudy became enamored with hunting the Marco Polo in Tajikistan. Since then, he has made 16 trips to the Pamir Mountains. [1]

>The leopard was killed over three
>decades ago legally in Mongolia.

I hope so. I'd hate it to be more recent than that... after they were listed.

txhunter58, that's the first thing I thought was how long ago was that picture taken as it looks very old.
