I was unable to make it to the rac meeting tuesday night. How was it and how did the votes go on the changes for elk and deer.

Everything was approved except the Late LE muzzy hunts on the general units. That was voted NO 8 to 2.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-10-17 AT 11:10AM (MST)[p]Yes. We tried to get some numbers on that one as well as the early any weapon hunts and the late muzzy hunts, but the DWR wouldn't commit to specific (or even ballpark) numbers on any of them. Basically, it was: We'll see how they go and adjust them as needed.

I support much of what the DWR does but it seems a little ridiculous they can't put some specifics to their proposals on these two issues. I understand they can't give a specific number because tags are set later but it seems they should have a percentage number planned for all of these proposals.

Thx for the update. Im glad they did not vote for those late muzzy hunts. If the Buck to Doe ratio is up they need to raise general season permits as the management plans calls for.

I believe the division said 5 to 10 permits per unit on the late muzzy and in the early rifle deer take and divide the permits making some available for early hunting.

I think allowing people to hunt all 3 elk seasons is ridiculous, unless they do it like dedicated deer and give them a 2 out of 3.

Thanks for the updates. What were peoples thoughts on the price for all 3 elk hunts. 150.00 is a bit much IMO. I think 80-100 is a little better.

$150 too much to hunt all 3? Your crazy you better stay in Ut, and don't price everywhere else. The price is a steal. I just hope they count the $150 as 2 or 3 sold so it's not over crowded.

You may be correct. My hearing isn't what it used to be, plus I was trying to take notes. But I do know they will adjust them as needed in the next year or so. They simply don't have a grip on the interest.

I don't remember it coming up, but I'll pay more attention at the Southern RAC.

$150 to hunt all three general elk season? Sign me up. They better put a cap on these tags I'm thinking.

Deerlove I'll pay it but look at what a wyoming res pays for 2 seasons. 52.00+ 15.00 to hunt with your bow. Look at what Idaho's residents pay as well. Utah sticks it to it's residents on tag pricing.
