San Juan deer follow up story

So I have another really cool follow up story about my San Juan archery hunt & buck I was fortunate enough to harvest. If you look through the pictures in my original thread you'll notice the one I took when I first saw my buck dead-head down & his antlers sticking up above the grass. Little did I know at the time, I was on camera myself!! My buck (and myself as I was tracking him) passed right in front of a trail cam that was hung by another hunter. Well that hunters buddy saw my story on here and recognized me & my buck!!......what are the chances?!? Well the owner of the camera messaged me (on here) congratulating me on my success and offering to send me the pics that his trail cam took of first, my buck running by after it had been hit (blood running out his side), and then me as I was following the blood trail, and finally me taking my phone out to take the picture that posted on here!!!.....UNBELIEVABLE right!?! After I took that picture is when I noticed the trail cam. The first thing I thought of was how cool it would be to see what that camera caught! Well my good fortune continued a few days ago when the owner of that camera e-mailed me the pictures that were on that camera during those unforgettable moments of my hunt. What a fitting end to my memorable hunt this past season! I want to thank the awesome guy that sent me those pics & with his permission, I get to share them with all of you.....enjoy!!

This was about his last step. The tree to his right is where he fell over dead

Me walking back to get help after finding him & putting my tag on him

Not every day you get to watch the story unfold after the arrow flies!! I'm still blown away at these pics.....thanks again to the trail cam owner for sharing!??

Shot him at 19:09 and the buck tipped over at 19:09. Great, buck, great shot, great pictures, great memory, glad a fellow hunter shared with you his pictures. It's a small world around a bunch of red necks. Congrats on everything.

The trail cam owner told me that his camera was set to take 3 pictures when it was triggered. The 3 pictures of my wounded buck happened when the camera was first triggered. That is how long it took (& how much ground he covered) for the camera to snap 3 pictures. But to your point, from the time I shot him until he was dead on the ground was a matter of seconds. The total distance he traveled was not far....may 80 yards or so....just barely out of sight from where I stood when I shot him.

One more thing. The camera was maybe 40-50 yards from where I took the shot.....and maybe 30-40 yards from where he fell. It was by total luck that the death run my wounded buck chose to take led him right past the camera!!......which is my whole point to this.......WHAT ARE THE ODDS?!? When I shot that buck I had NO idea there was a trail cam in the area.

That is pretty Dang cool. Had a similar thing happen to me this season(Rifle) as I was getting ready to shoot off the cliff. Another guy took a picture of me shooting the buck I took. Never had a picture of me shooting like that.

Way Kool story, nice buck, and good quality trail cam pics as well!

I archery shot a white-tail doe in front of my trail cam once. Made for a good entry in my scrapbook, but not nearly as good as yours!

Congrats again.

That may be one of the coolest things I've heard! Friggen awesome!
Congratulations on a stud buck too!
