USE CAUTION - Hunt Expo Thieves

There are some electronic skimmers working the Expo, stealing the RFID off your credit card.

So I went down to the Hunt Expo yesterday to validate my applications, and enjoy looking at all the taxidermy. While in the crowd waiting to get in, someone got close enough to skim the electronic account info from my VISA in my wallet. My accounts are set up to block suspicious and fraud charges until I verify them. My wallet was never out of my pocket for the entire day yesterday, from daylight until dark! At 0400 this morning, they tried to run three charges for about $100 each but the bank stopped it.

SLC police have been notified, and I will email the EXPO organizers also.

I hate a thief!!!!!!!!!

Guys, you can get a rfid blocking sleeve to keep your cards in, or don't take any that are chipped.

Get yourself a Stealth card,I have been carrying one since I went to Europe and was warned.

Simple card you put it on the outside pocket of your wallet protecting the insides from thieves like this.

They have purses for the ladies as well that do the same thing. Cheap insurance

I will ask also, how do you know it happened there? Your numbers could have been stolen three months ago and they are just now trying to use them.

If you give your credit card to someone and they go out of your sight they can snap a photo of both sides of the card and have enough information to make an online purchase.

Sometimes it's an inside job,meaning the credit card company has been hacked.(And they will never publicize this.)

One time I received a call from the credit card company saying my card had been compromised and they were canceling it and sending me another one. Before I received the new card I received another call from the credit card company telling that card had been compromised and not to use it. Like I said, an inside job.

As I learn more and more about the problem, there is a possibility it could have happened somewhere else or earlier, but it is very suspicious that within 8 hours of going to the Expo my card gets flooded with all these false charges. All of Thurs ones were from Utah, but now they have been pouring in from all over and as far away as New Jersey. Bank has the card stopped, and they are straightening it out.

Sounds like maybe you got zapped by an organized ring that got the information at the Expo and passed it on to the other members if hits are from all over now.
