Thats what makes archery hunting so awesome!! Close encounters with these huge amazing animals. Usually results is a short tracking job unless you forgot to draw in time. Then its usually a stare down and no shot.

Took my first 2 archery muleys spot and stalk. One 7 yards and the other 13 yards. Both shot out from under the same tree in the same bed.

Thanks for sharing the photo but this thread is entitled ?short shots? not ?short shorts.?

Short shots have nothing to do with what weapon you use. It's just a matter of wanting to do it.

All posts by this OP are kept short, lest the spoofer be revealed. Too much typing and a '%50' might slip in, outing the scam ;-)

He is a she and she has a habit of shooting animals in the wrong unit but claim they were not told specific information. And she got away with it because her guide is a big name from down south and knows people, like janitors in the office that gives permission to hunt state wide.

Short Shots
Short Shorts
Short on reading rules

What the hell is muley talking ng about? You can see the whole elk. Maybe quartering too just a bit. But that shot is money.

Quartering to being the main point. You can't hit the 2nd lung from that angle without going through the shoulder.

So the 2nd lung is in between the shoulder blade and the hide on the opposing side?

Not to be a real pecker head, but you don't really have a clue as to what you're preaching.

You need to work on your angles. I'm not going to argue about this. I've been at this for awhile.

I have no bow hunting experience. I'm a muzzleloader hunter who only takes double lung shots. I wouldn't shoot at the angle that bull is at. I'm patient enough to wait for the shot I want.

Wow, I'd send it...

Hey HT, with the shot placement discussion, where did the arrow enter? How far did the elk go after the shot?

You're wasting your breath.
That classless broad doesn't answer questions from peons like us.

Agreed...
If you are good enough to get within 4 yds. then you should be able to back out to about 120 and give the poor animal a chance.

Elk are stupid and easy to get close to. You wouldn't do that with a mature muley buck. I always considered a mature muley a much more challenging hunt than elk.
