Custom turrets

So i've been kicking around the idea of buying the kenton industries custom turrets for my rifle scope. Ive wondered if anyone has used them and how they like them. Are they worth it? 70$ for my vortex DB hp 4-16 scope for just elevation knob. Thoughts?

I have a Kenton Industries turret on my Vortex scope (4-16 Viper HS)and really like it. I set it dead on at 100 yards and have bench tested it at intervals up to 500 yards. It's really accurate and simple to use.

As I'm sure you know your rifle / ammo setup also needs to be accurate enough to justify the turret accuracy, especially at longer distances.

The turrets work great, but they are only as accurate as the info you give them. Do yourself a favor and field verify all your data first!

I have the kenton turrets on several rifles, and one on my wife's rifle. They work great and I have found them to be very accurate as long as you verify your load at known distances with a range finder. It really builds up your confidence when you know the range and dial it up. I have found the secret is to practice, then practice some more.

I have a Zeiss scope with the radid Z 8
Reticle on it. As i get older and eyes get worse I had a hard time seeing the small hash marks. Sent it to Kenton and had both elevation and windage turrets put on
And love them. Range it, dial up the yardage and shoot. You need to stick with the same ammo the turrets were set up for. I wouldn't hesitate to put them on another scope.

I agree with 257Tony. They work great and I have them on a couple of riffles but the saying holds true. Good data in equals good performance out...

not only are they only as good as your data but only as good as your scope is at tracking. Not all scopes are up to the task and that is not Kentons fault.

If you're limiting yourself to 500 yds or so, have the turret built on verified load data, and the turret is built for the approximate elevation you'll be hunting and doing your shooting at, you should be pretty good (assuming your scope is capable of tracking, as has been pointed out).

If you're planning on shooting much beyond that, then I would suggest running an MOA or Mill turret and a kestrel. (There are just too many day to day variables at the longer ranges that a custom turret can't account for)

Kenton builds a great custom turret, as long as a person understands their limitations.

Hey ox!

I Hear they're coming out with a Bi-Pod Mount that Bolts directly to your Sage Shredder!

You'd Best get that Mod as Well!
