YouTube BANS GUN VIDEO'S!!!

"The video-serving network owned by Google is banning videos that provide instructions on how to make a firearm, ammunition, high-capacity magazines, and accessories such as bump stocks and silencers.

The ban includes showing viewers how to install the accessories or modifications. YouTube also prohibits content about the sale of guns or firearm accessories."

Not quite as dire as your title implies. Nebulous as to what they are actually banning. Sounds like mostly how to modify an AR to make it essentially an automatic weapon. If they are banning how to reload ammunition, then it is certainly over the line.

This is a pretty dangerous thing.

I own all kinds of guns.

I have looked at videos for everything from assembling an AR to adjusting triggers on my bolt guns. Had a problem with my 30-30 as well. YouTube is a great resource for everything a DIY gut might need.

Also, I have and hunt with an AR. Building an AR for each of my girls including one in either 6.5 G or 6.8. Those two are just as capable Deer guns as 243 at reasonable distances. I can customize them the way I want. My varmint AR is just as accurate as my bolt guns.

Also I saw reloading in the press release. That is a lot of information out there that will be banned now.

It doesn't say AR specifically. It says basically anything related to guns. I take it to mean everything from muzzle loaders to Barret's.

I see the same thing. In a way they are opening a new marketing opportunity and more segregation.

When people warn of what is to come, most in our society believe "that can't happen here" or "our government would never do that". Well folks that is exactly what we have been taught to believe. IMHO our society as a hole are willingly giving up their God given Rights in order to keep the conveniences and luxuries our government allows us to have. Again, JMHO.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-24-18 AT 03:39PM (MST)[p]I've been selling AR-15 magazine loaders I designed and mold at home. Out of the blue eBay all of the sudden shut me down recently. They were pricks about it claiming I was selling part of an assault rifle. I reworded it The other day and put it up just trying to sell the last few I have. Unfortunately, they blew away the nice add I had and all the history and positive reviews. Hopefully the crappy one I made will work. Sold a few today.

Now YouTube is going to blow away the video I made for the add because it shows how to load a 30 round magazine. Come on! Last time I checked, everyone knew how to load a magazine without this video!
https://youtu.be/a_5ZkM9rgmM

All in all it sucks for many reasons. For me personally, this is how I pay for our tags so I will have to figure out another way to fund our family adventures.

While I'm ranting, I'll pause to thank anyone that has published YouTube tutorials on reloading. It's a hobby I just picked up and really like. Ironically, all of my equipment was funded by my eBay sales...with help from a YouTube video!

Maybe I'll just go back to motocross again. That's still legal right? I retired from that 7 years ago.

Sheople of THE USA ! Wow! I really look at my children and feel so sorry about the world they live in and what it's going to be like when they are my age! Seems like our country has turn into a liberal breeding ground filled with ignorance.

It is our generations fault for sitting back, living easy and doing nothing as our Democratic Republics deteriorates.

Reloading videos are still there.

What a joke. You can look on youtube and learn how to set up a hash lab in your kitchen. I bet they never ban those.

Now we have legitimate reasons to tell the wife why it's in our search history. Thanks YouTube!

(I'd post the link to the news story, but the censor blocks it. Ha.)

LAST EDITED ON Mar-25-18 AT 09:11PM (MST)[p]Kind of a backward way of going about it,, but they are destroying the 1st amendment to get rid of the second amendment.

I know these big internet entities are not our government,,, but some have just as much power,, if not more, in the way they sway public opinion.

But don't worry these same bunch of retards that have made most of the country believe that if a man puts a dress on that he really is a woman,, and don't you dare try to tell your kids different.

Don't worry at all, they would never be able to do enough damage to cause the loss of our hunting heritage.

Pack some stuff in grease and bury it now so your grandkids can fight back if we don't have the balls.

Who is "they"?

Protestors are using their 1st Amendment rights to speak for/against their beliefs. They can protest and lobby as they desire.

YouTube is a company that can control the content of its own website, which is them utilizing their 1st Amendment rights.

You as a consumer can protest against YouTube, stop going there, or start your own gun video website.

Personally, I was more offended by Utah-based KSL taking guns off their classifieds than I am by this. But both are the rights of the website owners to control.

Nobody is saying you can't watch gun videos, YouTube is just saying you can't watch them on their website.

As a business owner my response is of you don't like the business decisions of YouTube, too damm bad, start your own service.

What did it take, 2 days for Utah Gun Classifieds to start up when ksl wusses out?

In related news, I see Dicks revenue was down much further than they expected.

Just like in the NFL , turn off the TV same with YouTube. Don?t use them There are many video hosting sites out there.

I dont see the posts on hear saying youtube has no right to stop gun videos, elkass and some of the other posters are just pointing out the hepocracy of YouTube banning gun videos but yet you can learn many things on youtube that are hurting many more kids than guns are, gun violence would not be in the top five of violent videos on youtube. But of course the same guys that can't support the NRA and can support the Sierra club will tweast the facts.
It is more about politics for them than rights under the Comsitution of the United States.

You don't have a constitutional right to use you tube. Nor facebook, Instagram, etc, etc. If you don't like their business practice don't do business with them.

The Constitution grants us free speech. As I stated before I do not see anyone's posts that state's YouTube has no right to stop gun videos just some opinions on YouTube's decisions.

Notdonhunting, please chime in more often.

Nice to hear from somebody who reads and understands what they are reading.

It won't take long before they ban other "how to use" gun videos... Then later they will ban hunting videos...

At that point, I have no reason to use Youtube.

Yes, it's their right to ban all that. The sad part is, it reflects the direction in which we're headed.
