I have just started using a phone scope and i am no pro for sure. Some of the pics I have seen on MM are pretty good.
I am asking for advice on getting the best quality pics do you just use the scope power to zoom in or do you use the scope power plus the phone zoom.
Any advice to make using the phone scope easier and better quality pics would be appreciated.
My set up is an angled Vortex DiamondBack 20x60x80 plus Samsung edge 7.
Thanks

I use no camera zoom, but you can use just enough to get rid of some of the black around the FOV, then check your camera settings and set picture size/quality to the highest megapixel. Also, use a 2 second delay on your camera to get rid of the wobble before the picture takes. A lower tripod is more stable, and make sure your tripod is rated for that 3 pound scope.
Hope this helps.

I have a lower quality scope and iPhone 6 I use my phone zoom more than the scopes and it works better for me and I use headphones on mine to take the picture so I don't mess with the focus and shake it. Could also find a cheap selfie stick and take it apart to just use the button on that to save money buying the Bluetooth shutter

Without the PhoneSkope shutter to take the pics they are almost always worthless due to the shakes. The shutter is well worth more than the cost. Not having to touch anything to take the photo is the only way to go.

2 second delay is free... Just saying.

Most phones have voice activated camera shutter, try that and you'll be able to get pics without shaking the spotter. Obviously, the better your spotter, the better your pics will turn out.

And with a shutter I can just keep on shooting as many pics as I want with no delay or 2 second wait.

I use an iPhone 8 and a sworo 20 to 60
I have the best luck setting the scope on 40 X and then fine-tuning the shot with the camera zoom if needed. Works best at ranges from 300 to 1000 yards or so. I also use the three second self timer delay to eleminat the shake or just run a video.I don't know if my iPhone 8 has a voice activated shutter but I will check into it. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

Most of the guys taking awesome pictures are using cameras like these guys. http://www.monstermuleys.info/photos/user_photos_2018/7170f986df1509f14de58ec5eca409a56cc2.jpeg But the picture of them was threw my Phoneskope and a spotter. These guys pulled up right in front of me and started snapping shots. Anybody recognize them? Well there are three of them in the truck. They have spent some time on Monster Muleys. But they have to get much closer. So the told
Me the next day I meet them. Good guys and they sell their photos for money. One of them in the back seat has given some good pointers here on the forum BB . But for me just trying to judge animals on the unit I am hunting. The phone Skope works great. But I have found. That if I run video and take it back to a big screen. I can judge the animals better. When I take stills I do use the shutter button.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-02-18 AT 11:21AM (MST)[p]If you are using an iPhone with your phoneskope set up, I highly recommend a few things.
1- first dial and Adjust the spotter before using the zoom on the camera.
2- never use your camera zoom at full power. Begin to lose quality on iPhone zoom after half way to full zoom
3-use a shutter button
4- I press and hold the screen on my iPhone (creates a yellow square) to lock in the focus so the image focus setting doesn't keep trying to find a focus.
5- having your iPhone set up sideways will capture a full screen image instead of a half image with your phone camera being set up straight up
6- getting closer will always give you a better quality picture :)

Buglinbilly was in the back seat of that truck. I haven't seen him here for sometime now. But he is known for his picture taking skills. He a is a good one for some good advice.
