Anybody feel like sharing experiences about wt hunting in sd? Feel free to PM if you feel generous. I'm sitting on 2 pts and the deadline is approaching. I drew nothing this year.

When is the deadline??

I hunted SD in 2015 for whiteys.

Killed my buck at 8am first day of hunt.

He was the 20th buck I saw.

I've never seen so many whitetails in one place...

It's been a while but I do remember it was none too tough to tag out on a decent 5x5. I was hunting the public forest ground near crazy horse monument. Whitetails are pretty easy to come by.

EHD has hit areas all over the state the last few years. We have been going out for the past decade and each year has been tougher and tougher to find good numbers of whitetails and mature bucks. Last year being the worst by far. We hunt the south central part of the state.

I hunt South of Murdo private property, but have talked to lots of hunters who hunt walk in areas and do ok, check out all the walk in areas on the fish and game website.

Thanks for the replies. I will stay in touch. I think I will go next year. I will have 3 pts and will be able to draw any of them from what I see (for whitetail)
