I'm in the market to purchase as good a quality pack I can find. I will use it for multi night spike camp type hunts. I will also use it for hauling meat. I appreciate any insights or expertise that you may be willing to share. Thanks!

I use a Seek Outside, very lite weight and can handle a serious load but the belt is not for everyone, very minimalist on padding. Kifaru and Stone Glacier are also good, more robust belt padding which might fit your body better. Some guys swear by the Exo Mountain gear packs as well.

Mystery Ranch is a great sturdy pack, but they are on the heavy side. I also like the Kuiu for light weight and versatility.

From my experience the hornhunter pack is good for about 3 seasons. In the three seasons I have had mine, I have broken three straps, torn/wore the bottom out, replaced the top zipper twice all with some of the worst customer service. I love the design but the pack is just not durable enough for me. I am hard on my stuff as I horn hunt a lot and use it during hunting season but for it to be done after three years is kind of irritating. In contrast I had an old Cabelas brand (I had my reservations buying it) pack that lasted me 8 years of the same abuse and probably even more as I was younger for half the price. I am interested in comments if anyone has any other recommendations as I am looking too. Thanks, Josh

If my heavily used Lowe Alpine pack from 20 years ago ever dies, I will probably check out Mystery Ranch first.

I've seen a lot of thick padded waist belts that have so much soft padding that they lose functionality and are more uncomfortable as a result.

Great info guys. Much appreciated!

I was wondering if anybody has any experience with the Outdoorsman Long Range Hunter pack?

LAST EDITED ON Jul-19-18 AT 06:19PM (MST)[p]Thats a bummer you have had issues with your pack. I have had myHornhunter for 4 years without any issues. I can't speak for there customer service as I have not had to use it. I hope if I ever have to use there customer service it isn't a bad experience such as yours.

When my Lowe Alpine Specialistg Cloudwalker wears out I will probably go with a Seek Outside Pack. In fact, I am very close to making the leap. It helps that I live in the same valley there are made in.

I got the frame for this season. Been packing around my 60lb kid.

The clip pins suck, they poke you.

I just replaced a couple with rings.
