Interest for sure. I love what looks like a local group helping our American Heros.

Hi Joe I hope all is going well with you. It's been awhile since we last spoke. Hunts for the Brave was formed in 2012 with the Help of SFW. We are based out of Northern Utah. SFW had donated a few hunts to veterans in the past and decided that it was a good way to say thank you to our veterans. SFW approached myself and 4 other gentleman and asked if we would like to put together a organization that would reach out to veterans and take them hunting as a way to say thanks. Over the last six years we have averaged 15 hunts per year. SFW helped us fund the first few hunts until we were able to begin our own fundraising events. SFW is still very involved in helping us to be successful. Each year at the WHCE in Salt Lake they allow us to have a booth, and auction items during the nightly auctions. We try to run off of a budget of about 40 k a year. 100% of the money we raise goes to help veterans, and on occasion police officers, firefighters, and others who have done courageous things. Our goal is to take individuals out on hunting, and fishing trips at no cost to them. We cover their travel, licenses, boarding, meat processing, and taxidermy. We try to stay in touch with our recipients after the hunts are done. We do not want our hunts to be a one in done experience where we never see, or hear from them again. The truth is many of our recipients are dealing with deamons that are hard for most to comprehend. We?ve found that hunts are a great way to get to know these individuals, and build enough trust that they can feel comfortable and enjoy themselves. We do all we can to provide a therapeutic experience while with us.
Hunts for the Brave has changed my life. Myself and the other 4 individuals volunteer all of our time, and much of our own resources to this cause. We have learned a few things the hard way as to running a organization with a small budget and volunteers. We wouldn't be able to do what we are doing if it wasn?t for SFW and many other donors. Our biggest supporters are the individuals that we have already taken out. They return the favor by sharing their story about our organization. We receive a lot of our funding from past recipients and their friends and Family. We do a great job at getting guys out hunting, but not a great job of telling our story. We try to keep the hunts close to home so that we can keep our costs down. We have done hunts in Idaho,Utah, and Wyoming. We do have a humble web page and a small Facebook, and Instagram following. You can see some of the good we've been able to do there. We do take cash donations on our website. We also like to have hunts donated to us.

Hi Justin, it's been a long time. I wasn?t sure if your wife would allow you to talk with me anymore, I remember you and I were chatting for a long time as you were trying to take the family out for dinner LOL!
Sounds like you guys are doing some good stuff out there.
I still have your number I'll be in touch

Good hearing from you

Joe
