I am so upset at Swarovski Optics!
I sent my 20 year old SLC's in for repair 3 weeks ago and was told to expect 8-10 weeks before i see them again. They were missing both eye cups and the hinged objective caps were also ripped off and missing.
So not hearing a single peep from them for three weeks, not even a confirmation they had received them, i was getting antsy to contact them as i need to get scouting for my upcoming hunt. Well....today i was surprised by a box on my porch, and was in total shock to see my Swaro's completely refurbished and an invoice outlining all the repairs and a total charge that simply said "closed No Charge".
What???
Are you kidding me right now??
No phone call, no explaination on why i have "abused" my 20 year old pair of SLC's and why you are going to charge me $300 for repairs??
You just receive them, simply fix and completely refurbish them free of charge, really??
"I love you Swarovski, you've definitely gone above and beyond my expectations!!" ?

You Know PUNK!

If You Hadn't Of Let STOMPER Haul them around in the Back of His Pick-Up they probably wouldn't have had to be Rebuilt for another 20 years!:D

I know so many people in so many places
They make allot of money but they got sad faces

I sent my Leica spotter back a couple years ago for some minor repairs and my experience with them was pretty good as well.
My Zeiss glasses have never been back, and are still my top pick for my most used optic in my arsenal.

Slam- I couldn't agree more! Haha Swarovski has always gone above and beyond.
Here's something I learned from my last Swarovski tune up.
I called Swarovski to get an RA number and setup a service on my HD spotting scope. When I gave them the serial number for the eyepiece and the body the lady told me that the eyepiece was registered but not to me and they couldn't service it.The body wasn't registered so they did register it to me.
I had bought the spotter used. Swarovski called the registered owner and he confirmed he sold it to me. Thank goodness his cell number was still the same as when he registered it and now it's registered to me.
The lady told me it's for theft purposes and also warranty. So if anyone buys a used Swarovski item make sure the seller contacts them or you contact Swarovski and give them the sellers info to confirm the swap.

Good advice Cahunter!
On a side not on my repair, they didn't even ask for my S/N, nor is it even registered to me because it was given to me as a tip from a hunter i guided 20+ years ago.
Guess i got double lucky!?

My 10x42's are in their shop now, I wish my experience was as good as yours. This summer I fell and they hit the ground harder than usual, breaking the prism. I did it 10 years ago, sent them in and got them back free of charge. This time they're charging me, saying it was negligence, not faulty equipment. I also own a pair of 15's and just got the BTX with the 95mm. They're going to get beat up, we're hunters, not fuggin birders. I understand it's negligence, that's why I buy the best so they can fix it when I break it! All they could say was with their new system they couldn't see my past work orders. First time I've ever had something bad to say about Swarovski.

Dropped my 15's in their soft case from top of safe to tile floor....out of alignment...mailed them in June 10th. Got them back in new condition July 24th...
Great optics Great service..

I have some Swaro EL's. They were 8x42's. I scratched the glass pretty good and sent them in. They called to give me a price after they arrived. I asked about switching to a 10x. She said they could and did for the same price. They even changed the focus piece so it sez 10x42's...

I had an experience that mirrors Tomichi's.

Also needed objective covers after a high country backpack hunting scouting trip. So I called them to "order" some.
The guy who took my call says what is your serial number?
I said I will have to go home and check. So I call him back the next day and tell him my bino serial number. He says we will send those right out. I say how much?
He says no charge, those are a warranty item for life.
Love my Swaro's!

>I bought a Swaro Spotter a
>few years ago but never
>registered. Guess I should
>do that.

My binos were not registered to me, they were given to me as a tip on a deer hunt.
The service center never said a word, not even acknowledgement that they had received them.
Three weeks after i sent them in, they were back in my hands with a zero balance invoice.

There might be other companies that make glass that rivals or possibly edges out Swaro, but NOBODY treats customers better. That makes them worth every penny in my book. Buy one time, and you're guaranteed top shelf binos for all of your days, as long as you don't lose them somehow.

I bought a pair of the EL Range binos when they first came out. Gulp. That's a big investment. The FIRST time I took them out, I had them in my pack. Somehow along the way, my mosquito repellent with 100% deet leaked. That stuff is deadly (makes me question why i would put it on my skin!). It literally melted the rubber cover off of my brand new swaros. They were a sticky melty mess.

I was devastated. I called them the next day and do you know what they did? They sent me a brand new pair and had me send in the melted ones. No charge, no hassle, no problem. I was blown away.

You buy swaro and you're set for life.

Swaro's customer service is not what it once was. I sent back a pair of 4 year old bino's because they had a cracked plastic piece around the eye piece and just weren't as clear as they once were. They emailed me saying it was going to cost $220 to replaced the lense and focus adjustment? Nothing out of normal use had happened to them so I was questioning why this much work needed to be done. They said the repairs weren't under warranty which was not my prior experience with them. It's always been fixed and restored for $0.00. I reluctantly paid the cost but will strongly consider other options on my next purchase. I have always bought swaro's because I knew if anything ever happened they would take care of me. Not the case anymore.

While Leupold isn't the same quality glass I have never had an issue with them not fixing my stuff at no charge in Oregon and sending them back to me within 2 weeks with an invoice for $0.00. Leupold's warranty is much better than Swaro's but will give Swaro credit for being better glass.

I sent mine in a couple weeks ago after 12 years of hard use. I sent them in for a cleaning and new rubber around the eye pieces. I expected to get a bill from them but never did. Instead, I got the email yesterday they were on the way back. I guess I will wait and see what was included but they have always been great In the past.

I have read a lot of customer service threads on Swaro and it seems some great great free service and others get unexpected bills. Wonder what really is the normal

Swarovski service has always been outstanding and relatively quick.
Sometimes the charges are due to them being upgraded like when they replace lenses from old glass to the new HD version or something similar.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-15-18 AT 09:44AM (MST)[p]OK...I received my Swarovskis back yesterday. There was no charge and they did a great job. They even included new lens covers for free. No charge, quick and professional turn around. For what its worth, I am very happy with Swarovski. Good luck this season.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-19-18 AT 12:01PM (MST)[p]Swarovski is great at repairing their binos, they get lots of practice.
