Sold the old bbq and bought a smoker. I have some things I want to try on it but wanted to see what others favorite things to cook on them are to maybe try out sometime?

Tri-tip is our favorite. I really like pork butt too. It's easy.

I have not mastered brisket yet, but when I do...

#1 Prime Rib
Jerky, Baby Back and St Louis Ribs
Boston Butt- pulled pork
Smoked Cheese
Summer Sausage -wow its yum
I have a Masterbuilt 40 " Electric.
I keep Apple, Cherry, Hickory and Alder on hand so I am always ready.
I have a Barbecue Recipe book from Virgils but I always tinker around and adapt.

You Might Try This Smoker out!

TRAEGER has a app you can download for free with lots of ideas... I have done primerib and it turns out great.

dry rub on a rib eye put some whole mushrooms around it and let them cook one of my favorites.... Remember its all about the inside temp just shut the door and dont open it until inside of the meat is at your desired temp...

Prime rib and if your adventurous try a pappa johns pizza pretty rockin..

Pork loin, pork ribs... those are just some of my favorite you can do anything..

The things already mentioned are great on a smoker. I had read doing your own sliced roast beef for sandwiches is great on a smoker so we tried it. Here is what we did. We used an eye of round roast about 3 lbs. We covered it in salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder. Smoked it on 225 until the internal temp hit 140. Took it out wrapped it in tinfoil and put it in the fridge over night. Next day cut thin slices and used on sandwiches. It was really good.

We also saved a whole hind quarter from a deer and smoked it over night on low. That was really good as well but you better have a big party to help you eat that.

You will love the smoker. Just know its not as fast as your old bbq but things will be better. Burgers and hot dogs are also great on a smoker.

If it's a treager or similar, just about anything done in an oven can be done better....maybe not baked goods.

You can make the best prime rib you can't believe. I do two 10lb rib roasts on Christmas Day every year and the whole family as well as in-laws look forward to it

Really?

I smoke everything I can.

As mentioned above, prime rib is great, so is tr tip, really anything you have grilled on your BBQ or make on your stove/oven.

I like to do multiple types of fish, I really like lobster and shrimp, lamb, chicken and anything from a cow or pig.

Smoked cheese, and smoked mac and cheese.

Also don't be afraid to smoke berries. You can use them for jam, glazes, sauces etc etc and it is phenomenal!
