Anyone else getting tired of motor bike tracks 6 miles up closed trails in Region G & H?

Every scouting trip we have encountered tracks were they don't belong.

I am seeing the same thing. I have yet to see anyone actually riding on a closed trail however. Makes me wonder when they are doing it because I have seen tracks on several trails this summer. A few weeks ago I was getting geared up at the trail head and two trails bikes came up the road. They stopped at the trailhead, we chatted for a few minutes, then they turned around and left. I have been checking out new-to-me country in G this year so I am not sure if this is normal for the area or not.

Have you checked the access areas for trail bikes?

There are more trail bike access trails than most people realize that go over the tops of those mtns...I hunt near one, it takes a special kind of person (and bike) to make the last couple miles as it is nasty...I need to buy one of those rokons I guess...

With that, I have seen tracks on non-motorized trails also. Ticks me off.

I've seen them on legal trails that were so rough you had to push them. If you can't ride the bike make it foot only.

You would be surprised at what a bike can actually do with the right rider. I've personally seen some crazy stuff done and got fairly decent at it myself.

I'm sure you have the USFS motorized trail map for the area.

There are some of the most fun, technical, and challenging dirt bike trails up there that are open.

It really sucks that other riders would risk losing the small amount of trails that are still open in the area by riding on closed trails. Bad apples I guess.

We are well aware of the open motor bike trails, but these are not those trails.

We avoid the motor bike trails like they are the plague.

This is the first year I've encountered tracks 6 miles up trails that are not open. They have been doing a lot of cross country driving in these areas.

It's happening everywhere!
Nothing like purposely choosing a non motorized trail that takes you deep and away from people just to be passed by some motorcycles while you hike.
I've almost been in fist fights over it.

I've personally watched dudes ride their motorcycles not only on trails closed to motorcycles, but then for miles out across just open grassy hillsides. Quite a few peaks up there you can see that they use those as hill climbing challenges.

It's not only in Wyoming,it's happening everywhere in the west. Idaho has a lot of grandfathered motor bike trails. As one member stated some of these guys really no haw to ride and once they get above tree line they can get anywhere they want to go. Be patient , watch and when they park , pull the spark plug wire. Then call forest service and game and fish. This happened up in Challis a few years ago and the forest service made them pack it out on their backs .

I agree with you on that Justr. For me I have days when I will try any hill and other days when I just don't have the juevos.
