Is anyone finding ammo (Not reload) for the .28 Nosler. I haven't been able to purchase ammo for over 6 months and kind of regretting buying this caliber. Any one able to help me in the right direction. I Tried calling Nosler about it and they said it would come out in August but i still can't find any.

Where you From Al?

I can look here but can't ship it!

Looks like it might be in stock here.

Nosler has really screwed the pooch with brass and ammo availability on this caliber. My advice is when you find some in stock, buy all they have. You can sell your once fired brass for $1 each easily.

Find the stuff you want on Midway and click the "notify me" button. They'll email you as soon as they get some. Order quickly when you get the notification because it can sell out fast.

This is why I try to discourage anyone from buying a new PROPRIETARY cartridge, unless you are willing to buy a lifetime supply of brass or ammo at the same time. This inevitably happens with most new proprietary cartridges when you have to rely on a single source of manufacture.

exactly right deadI....my 17 YO son won a 26 nosler and 1 box of ammo at a deer banquet this spring.....I told him he needs to be buying any brass he finds .....or in 15 years he'll have a tomatoe stake....

Its the scarcity principle at work.
The less there is, the more it's worth.
That being said, I just built me a 28, but I bought 50 rounds of brass with it, so I could load my own for many years to come.

It's a shooter and a looker, and so far I really like it... is that where the women joke is????

Well I thought I found the ammo but the following vendor confirmation is now telling me otherwise. 9-12 months before I can use my brand new gun. RIDICULOUS!

We regret that we are unable to immediately complete your order number #B368xx. The 28 Nosler ammo on your order is back ordered from the manufacturer for approximately 9-12 months. We are accepting back orders for these as we expect to have a limited supply available and expect these will sell out before they arrive to pre-orders and back orders due to high demand and/or limited availability

Anyone want to buy a .28 Nosler Rifle?

I do handload and have so since the mid-80's. There may be brass now but that isn't always the case with proprietary cartridges. As popular as the 300RUM is, it went through a brass scarcity not long ago. As the newness of the cartridge fades and if it hasn't caught on in huge numbers, brass will only be made in seasonal runs. For many near obsolete cartridges, those runs can be several years apart. So buy it when you find it.

call me a brass whore but if I don't have at least a couple hundred pieces of brass, preferably thousands, for any given caliber, I don't sleep well at night. For handgun cartridges I need much more than that.

Does it come with a case of ammo? :D

LAST EDITED ON Sep-17-18 AT 07:15PM (MST)[p]Unfortunately I don't reload. I really don't want to get rid of this gun either. My point was more about how does an ammo company invent a caliber, sell and have other manufacturers sell probably thousands of guns, then tell all of them that don't reload for themselves, hey you can't use your new gun because we stopped making your bullets. Nor do we know when you can. And when we do produce them your gonna pay through the nose. I just can't remember another new product I've bought that I couldn't use for such a long time. Seems unethical. I really don't care for Nosler right now

If you can't find brass you can make it from .404 jeffery brass or even Ultra mag brass. Just shorten and neck it. PRESTO!

I wanted one pretty bad before, now maybe I don't.... I do reload but it's not worth it if supplies aren't really available.

Was going to build a 28 Nosler too, but all the scarcity of brass made me just do another 7mm SAUM just with a custom reamer to seat the long heavies out. Will be giving up 150 fps, but I have a lifetime supply of brass and two companies that still make it...good luck guys!!!

Did you put it in a long or short action?

I'm late too the party, but if anybody is still needing some Ammo, I lucked into a case and a half. $75 a box in the Salt Lake Valley. Message me if your needing some.
