Nebo fire, turning back tags?

Always a fear, a fire screwing your hunt. But with LE starting Sat, are you guys turning tags back? Spike and muzzy deer?

My neighbor has a Nebo muzzy bull tag and is understandably frustrated. I guess they can turn their tags in and keep their points, but DWR keeps the money? I know that is standard when people turn tags in, but in this case I don't agree with the policy. Most of the elk in this unit hang out in areas that have burned. If the resource that you paid for is no longer there or available, then what are you paying for? Seems like in situations like this, folks ought to get their money back along with their points. Any thoughts?

As frustrating as this is, if a guy is familiar with the unit and has done his scouting, there are still plenty of accessible areas that hold lots of elk within the Nebo unit. If you are feeling daring, there is currently a way up on top of the Nebo loop that isn't being watched by anyone blocking access... with the fire headed north, you could hunt south, have a great hunt and never see another hunter
