I'm NOT Burned Out, but I'm sitting at home today! It's strange. Filling a tag is great and all, but then you're done. I just feel like I should be in the high country of Wyoming today stressing over how many people will be running around tomorrow and whether the buck I'm after is in deep hiding or not.

Yep, very unique trophy. Rarely do I see two headed bucks.

Could be worse! My appendix ruptured 6 days before my Nevada bowhunt while I was in Tucson for my granddaughter's baby blessing. 6 days later I was back in the hospital with a 2cm abscess. No way to get home to turn the tags back in. Wife had me on lockdown and just released to resume normal activity. Ended up eating both Nevada and Utah tags! At least you got to go out!

you using the doe's for bait? or are you the enforcer for the ME2 group? did that doe point out the big buck that molested her last year so you could take him into custody? lol

Founder, have you thought about just going up to WY anyway? You could go and just not hunt, or maybe find someone that needs a non-hunting buddy? Would still be a lot of fun I bet.

I was going to add that you should try helping out others in your spare time. That's what I try to do.
(Get ready for change because it's going to happen!)

If you are that board you could join me on my Wyoming hunt in a 3 weeks. My unit isn't as tough to hunt as the high country and I'll be sleeping in a tent with a wood stove and memory foam pad on a cot. I did see 65 buck in a day and a half while archery hunting the unit a couple weeks ago.
Don?t you still have a Utah tag and Colorado tag? You could start scouting for those tags, pick up an OTC Idaho tag or start scouting Wyoming for next year.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-24-18 AT 10:58AM (MST)[p]I do have a Utah tag. I need to get up and try to find a good one for my boy to hunt, or a great one for me to get after.

I appreciate the invite BrianID!!

Me too= not burned out!!! I hunted mzzle season colorado hard and got a great 31 " wide buck 2nd to last day! Battled hordes and heat, chased rumors, moved around to find camps set up 100 yds away from mine when i returned from eve hunt ("yeah we saw yer camp there!") and kept after it. On the last weekend i shut down all the rumors and went to do what i came for: backpack in 5 miles, set up camp and go the opposite direction of where the other hunters were going for the past week. It worked and a found where the game goes when pressured. Jumped buck from his bed and was waiting there when he circled around 5 minutes later. About a 30 yd shot through both lungs and done.

Deerlove: there s a pic on All Seasons taxidermy (Laporte, CO) ' s site. Picture of caped buck sitting outside on table. Sorry I will try to get one up here but it'll take a while as i am computer- illiterate and phone/internet access at home is unavailable to post pic from phone. He is 6 x 6 plus brow points and junk around brows.

Its their sept 23 post on facebook, not website. "Archery and muzzleloader guys have brought in some nice animals."
