Window Mount System Recommendation

I have a 3rd season CO Mule deer hunt this year and expect to do a lot of glassing from th vehicle s I scout this new unit. I want to put together a setup that I can interchange from my Swaro spotter and SLC Bino's. I have a Manffroto fluid head and tripod but nothing for the window. Any recommendations.

Swarovski makes a window mount, as does several other companies.
A straight spotter works better than the angled spotter when using a window mount. IMHO.

I have had the Nikon window mount for years it's ok. Looking for something better I tried the Vanguard. It maybe a little better. But still not like my Manfrotto fluid head on my tripod. So I usually just get out of the truck and use my tripod. Put on some of that Dodge diesel cover up scent that Bessy gave me for Christmas. I'm all set and ready to go.

I bought a vanguard window mount, proceeded to develop a serious hate for the head that came pre-attached. Removed it, and put the manfrotto 700rc2 that I had lying around onto the mount base. This allows me to always have the quick connect base plate attached to my scope so I can use any of my tripods that use a manfrotto head and window mount with ease. It wasn't the cheapest route to get there but I am much happier now :)

I like the angled eye piece on my vortex for looking out the window. It will roll in the mount so im not twisting in the seat. I have a vortex window mount, fairly cheap and serves its purpose fine.

I have a Manfrotto 700 that I use on my tripod. Was trying to get away from buying another head but guess I will need to. If I go with another manfrotto at least I can use the same quick release plates so I and switch from window mount to tripod.

I think that adapter I posted will use your same quick plate. It comes with a plate and will attach to the cheap window mounts.

Here is a pic of mine. I did have to buy a screw size adapter to attach the Manfrotto head onto the window mount. The machine screw that Vanguard used was a smaller diameter. The adapter just screws onto the smaller screw and gives you the correct diameter for the Manfrotto head. These are pretty cheap, like 5 bucks?

Thanks for the pic. I am ordering a second Manfrotto 700RC that I will pair with one of the cheaper mounts. Should be fine and will be compatible with what I already have. Ive n=been pretty happy with that Head for the most part. I may cut the handle down some on the one for the truck.

I bought a window mount from the mossback booth at the first hunt expo, it has a mossback logo on it, and I believe one of Mosses guides made them. The reason I am bringing this up is it is the best window mount I have ever seen or used. It has an extra articulating arm so your optics can actually swing inside the cab and you don't have wind and snow blowing in your face or on the objective lens. I will try to get a picture of it on here for you. I would call mossback and ask them if they are still selling them or if they can give you the machinists name who makes them.

Contacted Mossback and have a contact number. Looking forward to pics

Hey I was toasty warm in that razor with a windshield and doors with windows. Plus when it's in the teens as soon as your face freezes you don't feel it anymore. ??. That window mount from Mossback sounds like it could be pretty nice. I did a web search and couldn't find anything. Send us more information on that one. We can always put a sticker over the Mossback on the side of it. Wouldn?t want someone to get the wrong idea and roll my truck down some canyon. ?
