Project Mule Deer is an extremely informative and well put together video program talking about our western deer herds and the challenges facing them and other wildlife.
I highly encourage you all to take time to watch this and to also get involved if you want to help our herds and preserve our western hunting heritage.
I am on the Utah County Chapter of the MDF and it is a an awesome group of men and women constantly working to improve habitat, urban deer transplants, banquets and other projects around the state and local area's.

Nice try.

Hunters don't seem to be too interested in crap like this. You know; trying to help out the herds for the future...

The problem that faces mule deer in Utah is first to get DWR to admit there is a mule deer problem. You look at the numbers they throw out and there is no problem, mule deer are thriving in Utah, buck to doe ratios are high, units are at objectives,,, if you can get them to admit that he numbers they throw out are bogus. No group willing to fight this battle, we side with DWR and keep on status quo.

The DWR needs to focus on total herd numbers per unit. Buck to doe ratios don't tell you anything about complete herd health. Comparing carrying capacity numbers to overall deer numbers is a better approach. Then we can focus on raising the carrying capacity of areas.

Mike, thank you!
There are several groups that do conservation projects you can get involved with. I chose the MDF because I love their mission goals, what they stand for and what they have been doing for several years.
The Utah county Chapter is a great bunch of guys who have done a tremendous job with several habitat rejuvenation projects on winter ranges, urban deer transplants and an awesome fund raising banquet in the early spring.
We are all average people comprised of both men and women, hunters and friends that feel more like family and all trying to do a small part in preserving our hunting heritage.

I urge you to look into some groups and see which ones peak your interest and go from there.
Most you can just join and become a member, or you can take it a step further and belong to a committee member and get hands on involvement.
PM me if I can be of further help.
