Well, after receiving my unsuccessful email after Utah draw, I had no idea that I would have the best year of hunting I would ever dream of. I was excited about tring out the multiseason general elk hunt. First order of the year was to help my brother fill his Henry Mountains management archery tag. We spent a week down there scouting and was able to fill his tag on the second day of hunting with his 10 year old son watching through to phone scope on the entire stalk and shot. It wasn't the biggest Buck on the hill but the look on my nephew's face was unbeatable.

The next hunt that was in the schedule was the limited entry muzzy elk. I knew it was going to be a tough task as we had 2 tags in camp. With the super bright moon and dry conditions made it super tough. The elk were scattered and not talking at all. We hunted hard and stayed diligant at the task at hand and was able to fill both tags on nice bulls. We did see some great country and scenery as well as meeting new people alone the way

I was able to get out and do a little elk hunting in the archery elk hunt. I have never tried my hand at archery hunt for elk. I had the privilege to hunt with my buddy Skyler and his dad Mike. They worked their butts off tring to get me a bull. I had several opportunities at nice bulls but just couldn't calm my nerves enough to execute the shot. Bull fever I guess, it was a feeling I have never felt before. I hope to give it another try and redeem myself. I then hunted a few days on the general rifle elk and didn't see bull. I was able to help one of my favorite hunting buddies pack out his biggest elk to date. I was also fortunate enough to also be there when he pulled the trigger on this general season buck. His deer had the biggest body I have ever seen. We will send send the teeth in for aging as his teeth were worn to the gum lines.

These are just a few of the memories made this year. I'm so glad I didn't draw a tag and was able to tag along. Thanks again guys!!! Can't wait to do it again

Great learning experience archer elk hunting, take that knowledge and use it next time. Then helping others is a great way to enjoy the hunts without the pressure on you to get it done. Sounds like a great time this year!
