LAST EDITED ON Nov-14-18 AT 04:00PM (MST)[p]So it's 5 am and your driving you pickup down a dirt road, a atv pulls up behind you because you don't want beat up your truck, what do your do?
A Pull over.
B Speed up and beat up your rig.
C Roll down your window and give them the finger.
D Something else.

"hunting etiquette" sadly is pretty much gone...

But to answer your question, pull over and let him blaze on bye...

This isn't just hunting etiquette. This applies to any situation where you are slowing traffic down. Pull over and let the people behind you pass by.

I'm not much of a golfer, but this even applies on golf courses, right? If you're slow, move over and let others play through.

Seems like common sense/common decency to me.

Yep. Pull over. Don't make him eat your dust. Probably never see him again. Go hunt and bag the big one!!!

Well, if you're road hunting, pull over. If it's a rough road (afraid to beat up you're rig), pull over. If it's a certain outfitter, slow down even more and don't pull over.

Guess this is why I have one of those danged ATV's, so you can pull over...

Pull over. Pull over for dudes hauling trailers, sheep camps, horse trailers.

Pull over whenever possible for dudes coming up hill.

And freaking wave. It ain't I-15, we are either hunting, camping, or enjoying a ride. Be friendly. Especially wave to the sheep herders them boys have a crap job, little friendliness don't hurt

If its your buddy Ivory, he can eat dust

WOT & Make Him Inhale!

I know so many people in so many places
They make allot of money but they got sad faces

It Ain't Easy being Me!:D:D:D

Razors and utards, not to mention 1 tag in camp and 20-100 spotters...
Utah has no etiquette or hunters... go find your own animal and kill it... it's quite rewarding...

4 wheeler, UTV, truck, whatever it may be that comes up behind you pull over and let them by. I will be patient for a while, but after there we have passed several good places to let me by your getting your ass ridden and passed when there is an opportunity.

We had this issue a few years back on the wasatch. We were trying to meet up with the rest of party at camp early one morning to DBags on wheelers were going side by side slow as a snail not letting us pass. Took forever to get to camp. Almost missed our meet up time. Quite frustrating. I've always felt pull over is just plane common sense.

I've had the opposite problem. I was driving a FS road and got stuck behind a slow ATV road hunting. It took considerable encouragement before he pulled over and let me go by.

Obviously, its your road, and the access to the lands behind it are also yours because you drove there first.

Wow.

I've had more ATV's in the way going slow than trucks. It doesn't help that I live in a county that advertises from California to Kansas about how great riding an atv is around here. All the sun burn or frost bite, dust, fly's and traffic, NO THANKS!!!

PS. If someone ever see's the guy who runs our office of tourism and he happens to be stuck on the mtn. DON"T help him out. KARMA!!

Twice here in Oregon I have had friends that wanted to drive up a gravel road to reach their hunting spots. Just after turning off the pavement there was a pickup parked in the middle of the road. When asked to move the guys blocking the road got belligerent and said they were going to be the first ones to drive that road once it got light enough. These roads were miles long and forked often. My friends left and hunted other spots. I'm not sure what I would have done but I couldn't just leave.

Here's the Treatment:

Nice little generalization there...

Well, if you are driving farmington canyon, you either drive really slow and don't let anyone pass or you get ran off the road by idiots riding two wide around hair pin turns with sheer drop offs!

I've seen it all in that canyon! good folks pulling over for faster vehicles, slower vehicles hogging the road all the way up to their turn off in the dark fearing that theres a .00001 percent chance that you are going to the same exact spot, idiots getting stuck in drifts in vehicles that have no business being up there in the first place, forcing you to park your rig and walk around theirs to get to your hunting spot.

These are the reasons I do not do the rifle hunt any more. For some reason, in October, the cone lickers and uncommon sense folks break out of the asylum to drive the dirt roads.

Hahahhaha. That is funny because it's true! And I'm a Utard. Disheartening watching 30 utvs ride every ridge... illegally. not even get out, just keep driving.

Outlaw UTVs and ATVs on BLM LE & forest land. Keep em on the desert.

Here?s another idea, you have to Pay county property tax for the LE unit you apply for... hence live in that county. Or pay non res price! Bam!
