Cabelas was recently bought out by Bass Pro Shops.
I have been a customer of Cabelas since the 1970's.

I've bought everything from leghold traps to waders, to sleeping bags to camping gear to outfitted Alaskan hunts from them.

Since the buyout, the Bass Pro people have decided that African hunting is no longer acceptable or politically correct and have demanded that their employees no longer post photos of African hunting trophies.

This action hereby severs my ties with these two companies.

I called them and told them exactly what I thought...
I recommend that everyone else does too..

It would appear to be fake news.

This is ridiculous im so tired of reading the vendor bash of the day. These companies are all looking to make profit and as long as they get it they will apologize to the offended . Good lord Its all about profit...bottom line

I was very happy with Cabelas. Not so much with Bass Pro. We just closed our account a few days ago. I think it will be Sportsman Warehouse from now on.

Liberals....they like camo too. They will still make money as urbanites want to look like hunter types and act like a hunter.

How does this surprise you?

Now or fifty years from. It is coming. Just as sure as the consumer puts local business under by swarming to the big chains. It's coming.

I use a cabelas black card as my business card. If sportsmans offered a similar deal I'd jump too. The cabelas near my place got rid of the long time employees, got rid of bargain cave, and are weeding out the gun library. I'm less than impressed myself.

From the party of HUNTIN, FISHIN, PUBLIC LAND.

So the one thing this HAS done is get more reading for huntingnews.com

So, if this is indeed fake news, and it sounds like it is, then that means we need to boycott huntingnews, not Cabelas/BP

We had the black card also. We decided to switch to a card that gives airline miles. Our son and his family moved out to Cody, so we think we might have to do more flying now. Even though I hate flying. The Cabelas in Reno has changed quite a bit since BP took over. Lots more fishing supplies and less hunting. We noticed a drastic reduction in reloading supplies anyway.
