I saw this new group and under the Wyoming section they have a separate thread going. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out. It seems like the guy/group is attempting to take a pretty hard line on a variety of issues. As with all groups I agree on something and want to puke on others... However it is often the things that make us the most uncomfortable that allow us to grow.

What do you think?

So when I post how Mike Lee is trying to sell off public land, I'm not just preaching to westerners. Meaning, a guy like this wants his land protected, yet wants to tell 49 other states to pound sand? So when we try to beat back the Lee's of the world when they want to sell region G, why would I care? I can't hunt it, so who cares if Wyoming guys lose all their land, if I'm a Utah guy?

Second, since he wants to push that , I assume he would have no issue with Utah building 10ft fences all over the Uintas to keep "Utah elk from migrating into Wyoming"?

He got a red azz because 8 dudes from Michigan beat him to "his spot"?

If dudes from out of state, non mountain guys beat you to your spot, its because they CARED MORE, PERIOD.

I think we do need to address tech in hunting be it bows or guns.

Hilarious a guy who lives in the biggest tourist area in the west fancies himself as some crusader against outside money. Without outside money, Jackson is a gas station and one light town.

I line up more with him than some other groups that are talked up ad nauseam on this site.

You should ACTUALLY read BHA stuff. They share some of this dudes hunter ethics ideas. In fact I know Yvon doesn't like baiting or predator control. That must hurt huh? You and Yvon agreeing.

That's one of the things I dont line up with. Thought BHA was a one issue outfit?

Yep. Keep out the non resident, auction off some tags for revenue,(the rich will have an advantage), eventually have paid positions in his organization. Sounds like a great organization. NOT!

He's just getting IRS approval to validate his (and most resident hunters') feelings about having to compete with nonresidents in "their" spot. It's a stupid idea, like "Coloradans for totally limited elk hunting."

I understand where he is coming from. I don't like seeing other hunters, I would prefer to shoot my rifle 200 yards and I love filling my freezer. That's how hunting was for me 40 years ago. I wonder why I said to myself I will never join another hunting group after the wolf wars ended in Idaho.

I knew it was a smelly pile of BS when they couldn't even make it through the first sentence without using the word "fair". Just another word kids use to much.

Without the Non-Resident money the Wyoming Fish and Game would have to raise prices on hunting licenses to Residents to make up the difference. That will never happen.

I do agree with the Technology aspect of this in that our Bows and Guns just keep getting better. Taking an animal at 1500 yards was never done in the 60s or 70's when the deer were prolific in the Western States.

Also when I was growing up the whole family would go out on opening weekend. There would be about fifteen of us on opening weekend and we would shoot the first buck we saw, some were big some were small. We would get usually about 8-10 bucks for the freezer. It was about family and sharing time with buddies. Of course someone in the family would always shoot a good one and he had bragging rights for the year.

The good ole days

Looks like Trippy up to his same old crap, just a different day. Good job there big boy, I hope you have your panties on this time.

Anyways, to the subject at hand, this new group sounds like a bunch of millennial, selfish, slef righteous, idiots.

Yeah we all want to drive down the road, kill our deer and elk and have zero competition, cut it up and eat it. Thats the beauty of owning your own property. Set your own rules. But this isnt that. Keep everyone out except my closest friends and family? Really? I dont see this group gaining any traction.

I can see a need for some of the theories, but when his first stance is no rifle shots past 300 yards..... That's whack job extreme.

I hope this guy didn't drive after doing the interview, they already have a big drinking and driving issue up there. Ha ha

If the dude is really just out ?to go out get a deer or elk, cut it up and eat it?, then what's the problem with a few non-residents in the mountains? There?s plenty of game in Wyoming to ?fill the freezer?. He?s just another selfish nut trying BS a bunch of guys into paying their organization fee?s and doing things his way so hopefully no one is after ?his? big buck.

He'll pull in a few members who hate non-residents in ?their mountains?, then they'll see it for what it is and bail eventually.

Pay him to tell you what to think and do. Good investment.

I am not quite sure how I got brought on into this conversation. Oh wait, it was tristate! Nevermind.

I don't see anything he proposes in that article to impress me as a resident living in G. As someone insinuated above, fair is a word best left out of intelligent conversation. I don't care for the term fair-chase. Everyone decides what it means, for their own best interests.
