I'm a disabled veteran, 32 y/o, was hit by an IED in 2012. Im still able not get out and make descent land movements, however at a much slower pace then I once was. Im currently living in Texas but took a job at the Cheyenne VA and hope to be starting soon. I read all of the fourm rules but couldnt figure how to start my own post. I apologize for stepping of this thread... I grew up in Loveland CO. Single Mom and never had a mentor to teach me to hunt, although it was all I coukd think about as a kid. As a kid I used to ride my bike across town to the river to fish and caught a ton of crawdads in the irrigation ditch near the house by turnin over rocks and using an old sock full of our dogs food. Ive attempted to hunt hogs at the several of the Army post Ive been stationed at with no luck... I'm excited about moving home (Wyoming is home enough for a poor white trash Colorado boy). I am hoping to find a mentor that can teach me the ropes. Ive got a son of my own now and feel the need much more now to be able to sucessfully hunt so he understands the cost of the meat that he eats. The Army tought me to hunt men, now I need a mentor to help me hunt game.

First and foremost thanx for your service. You did start your own thread so no worries. I'm 25 miles south of ya on the wrong side of the border. Hit me up when you get settled in up in Cheyenne.

Welcome home. I live on the other end of the state, so can't be much help to you over there. Good luck and thanks for your service brother.

Welcome to Wyoming. We're glad to have you. Ask at the sporting goods stores, and on the local social media info/buy/sell sites, about clubs (archery, bow hunting, shooting, etc.) They're good ways to connect with people.

Cody,
