Of all of the latest hunting tools that have come out in the last 20 years which "tool" (in your opinion) has helped more hunters take game than any other tool.

I would have to say that laser rangfinders have helped hunters improve thier skills than any other. I feel that I have greatly improved my ability to acurately judge yardage since the laser rangefinder.Everybody like to play the "guess the Yardage game" with friends and the laser rangfinder takes the guess work out.

GPS

Lets me go in deeper, farther, longer.

It would have to be Viagra. It lets me bag more two points go in deeper, farther and last longer. Gps helps me find them.

Chef, are you talking about GPS, or the little blue pill?

Seriously, I might have to say the computer. It enables hunters to access vast amounts of information that wouldn't be available otherwise. It enables hunters to easily apply for tags, and do lots of "scouting" before the hunt.

Lol eel I was thinking wow. Our minds must have been rolling down the gutter together. I was also thinking we need to take Chef over to the campfire. Wasn't he lurking in the hills somewhere?

The internet.

You can gather more research faster about areas, statistics, get advice, find guides, locate tags, find moon information, gather weather information, satallite photos of areas, topo maps articles, harvest information, draw odds, region changes, etc etc... just more information is available than was ever possible before.

I cant think of a single thing thats benefitted me more out of all the gear I've got than the net.

Computer without a doubt has made things better for all hunters and sportsmen/sportswomen out there today, so much to find and learn.

FOR ME IT IS THE COMPUTER WITH OUT A DOUBT. BUT GREAT OPTICS,GOOD CAMO, SHOOTING STIX,RANGE FINDER, SCENT COVER, AND A QUAD REALLY HELP. I FIND THE QUAD LETS ME HUNT MORE COUNTRY, STAY TILL AFTER DARK, GREAT IN GETTING A ANIMAL OUT, AND AFTER 5-7 DAYS I AM NOT TIRED LIKE I USED TO BE. ITS NICE TO PARK THE QUAD, HUNT ALL DAY/AND HAVE A 30 MINUTE RIDE BACK TO CAMP. YD.

Websites like MonsterMuleys, Bowsite.com, muleymadness.com. Using the search options to find out info about certain units, etc has helped a lot.

GPS, Laser Rangefinders have also helped a lot.

Let me preface this with I use these very responsibly, and I am not lazy.

I would have to say ATV's. With some of the trail systems that have been set up, AtV's allow many people to access areas that they could not otherwise.
People can hunt one area and if they have no luck they can hop on an ATV and move to a new area in a matter of minutes.

I'd have to agree, it's got to be atvs. There are lot of guys who never would shoot a mature animal if they could not drive to areas where those animals still live. ATV's have opend up a lot of killing opportunity for many people.

"Roadless areas, in general, represent some of the best fish and wildlife habitat on public lands. The bad news is that there is nothing positive about a road where fish and wildlife habitat are concerned -- absolutely nothing." (B&C Professor, Jack Ward Thomas, Fair Chase, Fall 2005, p.10).

I definately agree with the internet being a very usefull tool. I have asked for and recieved help from the members here at MM as well as a few other hunting websights.

On the other hand I can kinda see how the internet has mad some things more difficult for hunters. Like on-line draw applications I would bet that alot more people have been putting in for the draws since they no longer have to snail mail it,thus making the draw odds a little harder. Also like when a huter or two kill a nice buck and post pictures of it and tell the location where it was killed .The next year the area is full of hunters.

Without a doubt the good definatly out-weighs the bad of using the internet as a tool,it's just something to think about.

Yup, I'd have to say the computer and internet combo. I've learned so much while I should have been working it just isn't fair. :)
