Hi everyone! I am new to this site, and I like wat I see on it. Lotsa big antlers :) Anyway I am from Montana and I love archery hunting. I drew an archery antelope tag and a elk tag for the missouri breaks. Hoping to take quite a bit of time off in september and get some hunting done! Last year I got my bull on the first day of season, which was GREAT! But then you cant hunt again for another year :( (for elk anyway). So this year I just want to hunt hard and see wat I can find... Hopefully get to take a few animals with my bow! I took a scouting trip to the breaks and saw a good number of bucks.. both mule deer and whitetails... and a few good bulls as well!! Really starting to get excited! I am planning on hunting antelope in the area I live in. I haven't hunted them before but will probably hunt with friends that have. Everyone tells me its a lot of fun! I will try to upload some scouting pics and later hopefully some of me with a trophy :)

well ok!! wow i have been out of touch with the world of monster muleys. Anyway today was opening day of archery season so i had to go out and try my luck. I hunted for whitetails in the morning and got pretty close to some does but just couldnt seal the deal. So then we headed into the hills in search of some mule deer. We hadnt been hiking real long when we decided to glass a hillside and happened to spot a nice buck bedded down! It was about 350 yards away but it could already see us so we had to plan a stalk route to get close to him. After looking at him a little longer we saw that he had some friends surrounding him. Smaller but still pairs of eyes that needed to be avoided. Anyway we crossed the ridge and circled around him and came over the top of where he was bedded. I snuck down to the rocks above him and popped my head over and of course the spikes saw me and ran!! but amazingly the bigger buck stayed. Well i wasnt gonna argue with him so i kept easing forward until i could see him. Yikes!! He was a 3x3 about as wide as his ears and still in velvet. AND HE WAS 15 FEET DIRECTLY BELOW ME!!! It was very windy so he couldnt hear any noise I made. I drew aimed and released and watched the arrow sail over his back!! :( ya i suck. ha ha. Well I have never taken a shot straight down so I didnt know how to aim. Lame excuse but its all I got :) Well he ended up getting away and hopefully he will grow bigger till next year. So in the evening I go back to hunting whitetails again. Didnt have much luck and was getting bored when suddenly I hear a rustling and there appears Mr Coyote!! or Mrs. not sure about that really :p Anyway I figured since I wasnt having any luck that I would dull a broadhead on it at least! So I drew.. which scared it since it was only 10 yards away.. and tried to whimper like a pup which stopped it long enough for me to aim and release a lethal arrow! It ran about 10 steps before it expired. My first coyote with a bow!! yay!! So that is how my opening day went! Stay tuned for further stories
