Hunt with Infinito Safaris

Gonna start a thread for my upcoming hunt with Charl Van Rooyen of Infinito Safaris. Very experienced in both Namibia and Zimbabwe, but this is my first hunting trip to RSA. Really looking forward to this trip and I am fortunate to be taking a very good friend on his first African adventure.

Planned species will be nyala, Limpopo bushbuck, mountain reedbuck, klipspringer, black WB, impala, warthog, bush pig.

You are going with an outstanding safari operator. How soon will you be leaving? Charl just secured the rights to hunt some new property that hasn't been hunted in quite a few years and he expects to take some huge kudu and eland. I know you're not focusing on those species, but you might reconsider given the opportunity.

Be going over to RSA three weeks from today. My son is also supposed to be doing some video for him this summer. He is a great guy to talk to and we spent some time at SCI, and everyone who has hunted with Charl has posted good reports and pics of some real trophy animals.

I know about the new property and will have to see just exactly what opportunities I have, and where we are able to hunt. One can never turn down those trophies of a lifetime, even if they aren't your target species!

Really starting to get excited, and glad a good friend is also able to go on his first trip with me.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-16-13 AT 11:18PM (MST)[p]Under 2 weeks and counting down. Both the 7 Mag and 300 Ultra shooting great and dialed in. Laying out stuff, making sure new batteries in everything, and practicing up with the cameras and video.

Have to start printing up more money, as this might get a tad expensive if all the stars line up and the animals cooperate!

The wife won't be along on this trip, so there is no one to tell me NO More

Since the wife isn't going along on this trip, I'm assuming I already have permission to shoot anything I want.

My son got off yesterday for a month videoing hunts in RSA and Mozambique for Noslers Magnum TV. Will see him Tuesday at Charl's for an evening, then he flies out for buff and leopard and we start hunting PG.

Spent the day yesterday in Wyoming, just shooting deer and antelope for both still and video to check cards and batteries. Ready to climb onto plane in the morning.
