Has anyone done a cull or mgmt hunt for African game?
If so, I would love to hear your experiences.
I am hoping to do a fairly sizable hunt in Africa and I think a cull or mgmt hunt would keep the budget reasonable.

Happy Holidays

They can be fun I did some culls on my hunt in namibia last year. Can be a cheap way to take some extra animals but I always do it as an add on to my regular hunt.

Remember to ask if you want to bring any hides or skulls back you can. Sometimes culls you get to keep nothing from the animals. Also your Ph tells you ones to take and most maybe females.

You mat want to ask what can be culled or you may end up talking only 1 or 2 different animals and depending on which they are it could be boring after awhile since some are real easy to hunt.

Thank you. Were you satisfied with your overall experience and would you use the same outfit?
If so, would you share who you hunted with?
Best regards.

I was very happy with my hunt. I did mostly trophy hunting but did cull a red hartebeest and oryx. I hunted with Pieter Delport eintracht jagd safaris. He does not really show cull pricing on his site but I can get you pricing and info for you. I am going back this july again. If you have any question you can reach out to me at capwe6@aol

Thank you again,
I am trying to go sometime this year. I Would be appreciative in the cull pricing. I went in 2005 and took 15 animals thinking it would be a once in a lifetime trip. I must return and will probably go a few more times as it is too much fun and life is short.
Best regards.

hunt cost 300 a day. then culls are springbuck $60,00 each, oryx or red hartebeest $160.00 each ,eland cows $350.00

One of my PH's sent an offer to me the other day:
10 springbok
5 blesbok
8 warthog
7 days/6 hunting days
$5800
That's 23 critters in 6 days!

Last year I went to a different outfit to cull 8 critters, 3 of which were kudu for about 2700... I cannot remember the price but that is close. Im going from memory: 1 kudu bull cull, 2 kudu cows, 1 duiker ram, 1 duiker ewe, 1 impala ewe, 1 warthog, 1 springbok. I think that is it. He threw in a quick night hunt for fun and I shot a porcupine, saw several more. Also shot a jackal. He hates jackals.

Cull hunting was more relaxed than trophy hunting as it was all about the experience and not worrying about making anyone's book.

Just my 2 cents
