Rifles to Africa

Just curious. Do you take your rifles to Africa?

I have on my previous three safaris and plan to on all future safaris. I feel comfortable with my rifle(s), I know where it shoots.

There is just to much $$$$ on the line every time I pull the trigger to take a chance with someone else rifle.

Just a personal preference.

Is it a hassle? Yes. Does it cost money? Yes. Is it worth it? For me, absolutely!

How about you?

So far, on three trips to RSA and using four PH's, I have used a total of 5 PH rifles. All have been good, not great, but good. All in good shape and usually show lots of wear. I think they call it a patina on some antique shows...

Though I have been quite satisfied, I plan on taking my own rifles on the next trip. These are new guns that need some field testing.
