This year may be a busy one for me. My dad, who is 69, wants to put in for moose here in Idaho. If he draws, I will be helping him find a moose. Also, my nephew just finished hunters education and turns 12 in May. I will be showing him the ropes, and hopefully help him harvest his first big game animal. I will probably put him in for an early Oct. bull elk hunt here in Idaho. We will have a blast if he draws that tag. I will probably put in for any weapon antelope this year. I will of course be hunting Idaho deer and elk OTC. This looks like it is going to be a fun year for me. I just need to keep my fingers crossed and hope we draw a few tags.

I did go for a drive on sunday just to see what I could see. I saw about 10 muleys and 10 whitetails. I got a few pictures, but did not want to disturb the animals by trying to get closer.

Well Friday the 23rd I went for a drive to see what I could see. The moose were sure on the move. I saw 8 moose while out and about. I didn't see any deer or elk though. Here are a few pictures of the moose I saw.

On Saturday the 24th I took my lab Bruneau out shed hunting. We didn't have much luck finding sheds. I think the area had been combed over pretty good previously. He are a few pictures of Bruneau. The last picture you can tell he is enjoying life.

Sunday I went for a drive with my family. We had a great drive. We saw so much wildlife it was crazy! We saw over 300 elk, 150 mule deer, 50 whitetails, 50 bighorn sheep, 200 antelope, and 1 moose. We saw elk swimming a river, bull elk still packing, new antler growth on muleys, a bull moose who had shed his antlers, bighorns looking off rock ledges at us. It was pretty amazing. On of the best days viewing wildlife I have ever had. This is not the first time I have been to this area. I have seen alot of cool things on this drive in the past. This is the first time my brother and his daughter have been here though and they loved it. He is a few of the shots we captured on our trip. I hope you like them.

Saturday May 12th my Wife and I went and put a couple of trail cameras up and went scouting for the evening. Spring is definately coming about a 2 to 3 weeks earlier than it did last year. It was good to see the new growth and the number of young animals that survived the winter. After we hung the trail cameras we started our scounting expedition. We saw some elk, mule deer, moose, antelope, and a couple of coyotes. Here are a few pictures we took of the wildlife we saw. It was good to get out and relieve some of the cabin fever.

I went out on the 26th to check on my trail cameras. I got there just in time. Right after I left heavy rain started to fall. With the heavy rain we did not see as much wildlife on this trip. When we did the pictures I got weren't the greatest. I did get quite a few pictures on my trail cameras though, which was encouraging. I got a few pictures of the first calf elk of the season. I got pictures of both elk and mule deer, but none had antlers. Oh, well come rut that's where the bucks & bulls will be. Below are a few pictures from our outing and a few from the trail cameras.

I also put in for any weapon antelope here in Idaho, hopefully I draw. My Dad and I were bumbed when we found out that he did not draw his moose tag this year. Oh, well there is always next year.

On the 8th of June, my Wife and I went back out to check on the trail cameras. We had a pretty good evening of scouting and I got some good photos on my cameras.

We arrived to the location of my trail cams and to our surprise they had put cattle in the area. I was kind of put out, but it is what it is. I took down my trail cameras and will put them back up in a different spot next week. Here are some pictures that from the trail cams.

After we picked up the cameras we went scouting. We were not seeing anything at first. I Think a lot of it had to do with the fact that it is calving and fawning season. All in all we saw quite a bit. We saw a good variety: elk, mule deer, whitetails, pronghorn, short-ear owl, wilson's phalarope, and some beautiful scenery.

We saw a total of four bucks, one yearling, and three 2.5 - 3.5 year olds. Some of the bucks have good potential. It is hard to tell this early in the year though. Sorry, for bad picture quality they were a long ways away and it was getting dark.

We had a good time and enjoyed the evening. It doesn't get much better than watching wildlife with the one you love, and sharing in the moments.

It's been a while since I last posted. I have been out scouting a few times in last month or so. Time is really flying by for me this year. I can't believe that archery season starts in a month and a half. I have found a couple of bucks I am really interested in this year. The top buck I saw back on the 27th of June and the bottom buck I saw on the 15th of July. These are good bucks for this area. I really want the heavy buck with the kickers. If you had a chance would you take these bucks? Think the top buck will be at least 170 when he is done growing and the bottom buck close to 170-175. There is also a video of the second buck. Sorry for the shaky camera work. Zoomed way in with no tripod using my point and shoot camera.

Well my two brothers and I went out Sat. the 28th to check out the trail cameras and do a little fly fishing. We had a lot of fun and saw some animals. We saw 4 antelope, 10 Muleys, and over a 100 elk. Fly fishing was fun we caught some fish and missed more than we caught. The biggest surprise was what was on my trail cameras. We caught quite a few good bulls and one monster bull. I think the big bull scores at least 350 so I am excited. I think I know where I will be come opening day.

Went out on Sunday the 5th to scout and check my trail cameras. I moved my trail camera where the big bull was because they put cattle into the allotment. I didn,t have much success in the new location I put my camera. I only got a couple of pictures of a few cow elk. I put my camera back up where I saw the big bull, hopefully I will get some more pictures of him. My other trail camera continues to produce though. We also saw a decent buck while we were out scouting and alot of elk. Do you think the first pick is wolf or a coyote? He are a few pictures from the trail cams and our scouting efforts.

I had the day off from work yesterday, so my wife, my dog, and I went out to check my trail cameras and do some scouting. It was a pretty eventful evening. We saw 4 deer, about 50 elk, and some antelope. I got some pictures of deer and elk on my trail camera, but nothing big. Here are a few pictures from our adventure and from the trail cameras.
