"Wyoming Elk and Deer"

Thread Views Counter....

I can't wait for the 2014 Wyoming hunts. My Family struck out in all other states so it will be general season Wyoming this year. Hopefully my dad can draw his out of state Region G tag. He only has one point, so I will continue to hold my breath. But I will be guaranteed this year now I'm a resident. I am excited to hunt elk in Wyoming. I have never hunted elk in Wyoming, but I know of some good general areas that we have found while hunting deer. This years goal is to shoot a buck bigger than my best buck from Wyoming.

I got this buck in 2002, his net score was 180" 27"

We had a good year in 2007, my dads buck was 30" wide with 6X6. My buck was a 28" 4x4 with a pretty week point on the one side.

This is the best deer I have shot in any state and I go him with a bow in Utah at age 15. The buck is 33" wide 6X4.

I hope this guy sticks around were I found him. The area has lots of thicker stuff, so I hope he doesn't get lost for the hunting season.

Other pictures from our early June trip up the Greys River.

It was weird to see some bucks very developed and others with 5 inch bases and only 3 inch nubs. I didn't get to many pictures of the deer because I was using my camera on my phone. It's not the best camera to use for distant pictures.

I took a little scouting trip close to home, but didn't find any shooters. We did found lots of little guys that need a few more years to grow.

I wanted to go scouting this weekend but decided to take the family fishing. I love spending time with the family in the great outdoors its priceless. We hiked 6.5 miles round trip to get to our secret fishing hole. Actual we had never been to this lake before this trip. We must have hit the lake at the right time because we couldn't keep the fish off our hooks.

I think my wife likes to fish.

Lots of flowers to look at on our hike.

I have a great wife because she let me take her scouting for deer on our 11th anniversary. We went to Bubba's BBQ grille in Jackson Hole then hit the mountains for some scouting. I don't have the best equipment for taking long distant pictures, so you may have to project out what the bucks look like from the picture. I almost feel like I am trying to sell everyone on bigfoot with the quality of picture.

This guy is just a monster. The one side is very visible with a nice cheater. The top of the other side is right above the white on his butt. I think he will go over 30 inches wide.

A couple more form the trip.

Here's one for the 3 point lovers. I believe he is 100% symmetrical.
