Wyoming region K public land buck. Not a long story to him. It was about 8:20 on October 1, when I positioned myself right where I had envisioned. It did not take long for this one to make a brake out of a pocket of quakies. I immediately knew shooter. I set up my 300 win mag on the shooting sticks waiting for him to clear the brush. As soon as he cleared, he stopped broadside, about 130 yards. I already was on him. He did the high back leg kick and took off. I got to the spot where I believed he was standing, (it always begins to look the same), the direction he headed quickly dropped off through some rocks and into a deep covered canyon. I did not see blood but fresh "kicked" tracks. I followed them off the edge and to the brush and trees. There he lay, in a bed. He is bigger than I expected. Boned him out and took a couple of trips to get back to the truck, unfortunately all up hill. Well worth it satisfying!

Congrats. Great looking buck. Got to love Wyoming buck hunting. Seem like packing is always part of it.

Congrats on a nice buck. I'm hoping to find one that nice October 15th in region D. :)
