"Wyoming blm map help"

LAST EDITED ON Mar-25-17 AT 03:17 PM (MST)

Hi my name is Corey I'm a first time mule deer hunter from New York. I've been buying preference points for the past few years and I am hoping to draw a tag this year in unit 80 in Wyoming. I'm a little confused because it says this unit has limited public access but from the blm map I purchased on this unit it looks like the is plenty of access? From my understanding I thought you could hunt any blm land as long as it accessed through a public road. Also any information people my have on this unit would be helpful.

It's 38% private land. Focus on the southern part of the unit national forest area. My only concern is, you can draw that any weapon tag with 1 point... So why burn points the there? A lot of whitetails in the area. Deer are pushed to private pretty early id say...

There is plenty of access there and not alot of whitetails, not sure where that came from. Hunt the breaks in the BLM. The deer do not all go on private. Private access is an issue but plenty of public ground to hunt. You might be surprised what lives up in the north part in those BLM breaks. The drainages will hold more deer.
