Would you take the shot?

Would you shoot an arrow at this buck? If you had just stalked to within 40 yards, would you take the shot as he's bedded, or wait for him to stand and risk him busting you before he stands?

Wait for him to stand. His shoulder blade is turned out at a bit of a angle and the chances are good of sliding the arrow down the outside of the bone.

I'd pass and look for his bigger buddy. And hope the big guy is laying nearby in a spot that's tougher to see.

I wouldn't shoot at him like that... But, when it comes to archery shots, I'm pretty conservative in what I consider a good shot. I've let some deer walk in the past simply because I didn't quite like an angle or I feared twigs were in the way...

I'd be waitin for this buck to stand. I did something similar on a very nice 4x5 back in 2007 on a general season unit. Snuck to 25 yards and waited while he was laying in his bed. When he stood, I had a branch or two in the way. As he meandered a little, I moved into position, but his 2-point counterpart busted me out of nowhere, and he was gone. That's archery hunting.

"Therefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion!" 2 Ne. 28: 24

I think most true archers would wait unless they were 100% sure that they could and have made the shot before. With that said I think most guys that went down and bought a set up bow at Cabela's and hit a pie plate at 50 yards would be flinging arrows all day long.

Personally not me I just don't like the angle and to much could go wrong. I respect them way to much for that!

I would probably wait for it to stand, to shoot an arrow.

Get ready for change because it's going to happen!

Not opposed to shots with criter laying down ...but that's a tough call. 95% sure my fixed blade broadhead would harvest this buck humananly but I'd most likely wait for him to stand . Never would I take this shot with a mechanical broadhead.

If it was a buck I wanted, I would shoot. There was a little wind in the video. The wind may swirl. It is a down hill shot, should have pass through both lungs with a good fixed broadhead. I have a range finder that calculated elevation yardage change.

If it was an elk, not way would I shoot, too much muscle and scapula to penetrate.

It appears that video was taken through a spotting scope so he's probably way out of bow range anyway. If it's in rifle range I say yeah shoot.
