I am new to MonsterMuleys.com, but I wished I had discovered this web site a lot sooner. I was lucky enough to draw Idaho's big buck tag in Unit 40 this year. I have never hunted the area. Does anyone have any suggestions or information?

...how about a picture of Peg to break the ice??

Welcome peglover.
I have started looking at an Idaho deer hunt for the possible future. But don't have any good info about any units there. I have found it to be a little more difficult to find people willing to share about thier hunts in Idaho compared to other states in the west.
At least that's been my experience. But I'm just getting started.
Would love to hear how your hunt goes.
Lots post here to get info, then are never heard from again. So, some guys have gotten a sour taste for being friendly. Though some I believe just weren't raised right.

I hope someone can point you in a good direction.
Wish I could help.

I have a hunt this fall in Wyoming. Plan to post how it went and hopefully have some photos to share after it's over.
Good luck and again , welcome.

I'm from Idaho.

Come on or after Nov 10 and hope for cold weather. Get away from the roads and find the does.

Not crawling with big bucks, but with patience you will find them.

Yes and also all your bucks you have scouted and worked hard to pattern all summer can then be Phoneskoped, scored and gps coordinates sold to guys that have been too lazy to scout. It's all good though they more than likely won't bother you or mess up your hunt at all.....???

I had a 40 tag back in 2010. Shot a great buck. Unfortunately don't remember the names in the area without looking over my maps. I never went to South Mountain. I did hunt north of Silver City and chased around some nice bucks, but nothing huge. Think I got mine over by the Triangle area. I remember they were in full rut around Nov 10 when I shot mine...

Peg, I have a suggestion. Maybe next time, before you decided to put in for a tag in another state, you put the time and effort in and scout the area. I am getting a little tired of out of state hunters wanting us locals to do their work for them.

Kind of a D-Bag thing to say.

i 1000% agree, the ones who don't like your comment are recent transplants to Idaho. I also get tired of the ...my child has m.s. and I have irritable bowel syndrome or some other crap most likely made up. call it selfish I don't care but it's tough seeing people get tags I have been putting in for years for and not having a clue. rant over I do wish the folks good luck
