Last weekend was extra special for me. I took my ten year old daughter out hunting with me for the first time. She was super excited to be going out. You better believe I put a lot of pressure on myself to harvest a deer when she was at my side. We got lucky on our first morning. We shot this two-pointer out of a group of small bucks. I've never shot a large buck, but this is the biggest, heaviest two point I have ever shot. My daughter was ecstatic as you could imagine. I was so proud of her. She hiked hard, knew how to walk quietly and enjoyed every moment.
The shot was 55 yards, I used 110 grains of Pyrodex Powder behind a Thompson Center - 250 grain Shock Wave sabot. I hit the top of both lungs and the buck dropped in his tracks.
