Word is it's on the upswing..if you don't got a do do load of points your screwed..
Am sure if they cut tags(again) it going to get as good as Henries..
Achery is the better tag and you will see bigger and better..
Speaking as a non resi..

Muzzleloader, resident, 12 points. It's my mothers points, she's never killed a deer before, and I was hoping to find a big one for her to shoot. My dad has killed a 150" deer, so where hoping for her to kill a much bigger one.

I have also put in for this unit. Rifle Hunt. Resident. I don't want anyone's honey hole but starting places would interest me. I would plan on spending a lot of time camping down there during the summer. Don't mind putting in the time just need an idea of where to start.

You are quite a ways out from a guaranteed muzzleloader tag with 12 points.

Have you considered the management tag? Looks like she would draw the tag. The deer are migrating during that hunt and you will see lots of animals. My step dad had the management tag few years ago and was chasing a legitimate 180"+ 3x4 buck, he ending up not getting it but it was a really fun hunt.

The Paunsaugunt is an incredible place to hunt deer with any tag. Upper end bucks are hard to find but seeing dozens of deer every day keeps it exciting. If I had 12 deer points I would be all over the management tag and go enjoy a fun hunt in a beautiful place.
