LAST EDITED ON Oct-07-18 AT 05:57PM (MST)[p]I was able to harvest my second and biggest Mule deer buck this year with my bow! On opening day I almost had a shot at a big 4x4 but I blew the stalk and I never had a second chance at him. About 3 weeks into season on September 12 I found this buck. I spotted him with 4 of his buddy?s and ended up watching them for a few hours before they finally went off to bed. They didn't bed in a good place to try to stalk them so I went back home and brought my brother back with me for the afternoon hunt. We hiked into around 700yds above where they had bedded that morning and they were just getting up to feed when we got there. They moved about 5-600yds and bedded again. This time they were in a place we could try to put a stalk on them. We got to within 60-70yds and caught a glimpse of antler from the smallest of the 5 bucks through the brush. We eased down behind a boulder and waited for a few minutes before he appeared at about 40yds right in front of us. We watched him for a few minutes before the big buck suddenly appeared and started feeding. Slowly the other bucks started appearing and one of them came straight for us but luckily stopped at around 20yds. It didn't look like I was going to be able to wait for a broadside shot so when the big buck moved his head out of the way I was able to take a frontal shot at 38yds. Wow! That is a beautiful deer and to get it on video is a job well done. That was one of my favorite kill shot videos, great job and thanks for posting.

Thats one heck of an archery buck, congratulations kid!!!! The video is a huge bonus, you'll be able to relive it over and lver again. Great job!!!
 
So Cool! That video is awesome. The buck is even better, and then to get a set of shed from him too. You should have the sheds put in as a part of a pedestal mount with that buck. Congrats!
 
That video is great, that's one heck of a nice herd of bucks. You will have some more nice ones next year.

I took a Sunday off from hunting and went on a Sunday afternoon hike with some of my family and we decided to look for some sheds. I found the left side and we found the other side less than a 100yds away. We found them just 3 days before I shot him!

Great buck and a cool video. And I know I am not man enough to try that shot. Sure was effective and a super buck is on the ground.
