I was able to get lucky this year and harvest what I would consider a giant muley in the area I have hunted many years now. Although typically I hunt elk in the area, I decided last year that I would start chasing the monster muleys we were seeing every year while elk hunting. This year during bow season I had one buck in particular I was chasing I nick named Lefty. Opening morning rifle came and he showed up with another buck. The second buck was larger and the one I ended up harvesting. Although it took a few more shots than I would have liked, things went pretty perfect between the bucks positions and where we were. He grosses 193.75" and nets 181.25". 26" wide with only 20" and 20.5" beams and a 17" inside spread.
Crazy enough 5 days later the original target buck, Lefty, showed back up with another buck. The next morning seemed exactly like opener. The second buck ended up being the larger again with a 26" frame being tall and something like 40" of mass. With the larger buck laying in the bed Lefty was lying in on opener, everything seemed perfect yet again. Unfortunately we couldn't get him harvested due to a loose screw on the stock of the gun.
It was a great 7 day hunt with a few missed opportunities for the people with me. We were able to find at least 6 bucks in the 180's or better and have opportunities at 4 of them. It leaves me excited to go again next year and see if I can get my wife on one of those monsters.

That's a great deer...congrats.

Cancer doesn't discriminate...don't take your good health for granted because it can be gone in a heartbeat. Please go back and read the last line. This time really understand what it says.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-11-18 AT 12:33PM (MST)[p]Thanks all. He will definitely be taking up a good chunk of my wall space come next year. I probably wouldn't have got this deer if it wasn't for my wife spotting as I shot. So it is as much her buck as it is mine, and she expects the mount to be front and center when you walk in the door.

This is a region G deer of course. This area hasn't been getting crowded as of yet, and I hope it stays that way.

As for the "Scope Bite", it was pretty inevitable. 20% incline on the shot, and I'm laying on a flat surface. Butt of the gun was on the ground, stock was on a backpack and a coat. I knew it was bound to happen but couldn't get sturdy otherwise. Well worth it.

Great looking buck.
