Wasatch West Mule Deer Update

How has it been for all the guys hunting muzzle loader on the Wasatch West unit specifically up off timpooneke road? Haven't had a ton of time this year to scout due to taking advantage of the multi-season elk hunt. I have a friend who is a first time hunter who I am going to take up there with me. We will be getting up high above the treeline where all the big toads like to hang out. How is the terrain looking up there? How much snow? Looks like a lot from my driveway!

Timpanooki road probally has snow, if not, the snow probally isn't far from it. Last year on the mid season elk hunt, there wasnt a lot of deer. I've seen it steadily go way down hill the last few years up there.

I have taken a buck out of that area for the last few years. Last year my oldest daughter was able to take one also. The hike to get to him almost killed her but she put in the work and got it done. That road is usually like the LA freeway opening morning and if you aren't up high you might as well stay home. It is such a convenient area to hunt for me so close to home.

Not off the same road but still same area. I took an archery buck and my son took one with his muzzle-loader. Saw lots more young bucks this year than last, first timer may be happy with anything.
IMHO there are better places in the general area to go high for good bucks than off of that specific road.
Good luck.
